    Nice work with that Howa!

    6.5x55 loads

My Sportsman's Warehouse still has a Hogue Howa for $295. It's hard to go wrong with that.

    6.5x55 loads

I finally got the Howa 6.5x55 out to the range. I was sighting in a few rifles and didn't work any of them too hard. 7 shots to get the scope adjusted then a 3/4 inch 3 shot group. I am very happy with that being the first load I tried in a new rifle. 44 grains of RL 17 COAL 3.029 Nosler...

    6.5 creedmoor?

I did a lot of research when I bought my 6.5 Creedmoor. I decided I was going to standardize on 129 and 130 grain bullets. It seems some of the best velocities are coming from R17 and W760 powder. 4350 isn't a bad choice. I think Varget has a good burn rate for lighter bullets. I have only...

    6.5x55 loads

I haven't loaded the ABLR in my 6.5x55 yet. I did load some in my Creedmoor. Because of the length of the boat tail, I had to seat them deeper than I wanted to to get enough bearing surface on the neck. I am really glad you are getting good results with your Howa. I read that some time ago...

    6.5x55 loads

Nope, sorry Mike. I am coming off shoulder replacement surgery so I probably won't get a chance to shoot it for another month or so. I'll happily share my results with you...if I can remember. Since I put 50 years old in my rearview mirror, I always speak with that asterisk.

    6.5x55 loads

I meant to ask you Hainley, what length are you loading that ABLR to?

    6.5x55 loads

I just bought that same rifle but haven't shot it yet. Your results so far are certainly encouraging. Someone ran this QL for me using RL-17. Cartridge : 6.5 Creedmoor Hornady Bullet : .264, 130, Nosler AccuBond 56902 Useable Case Capaci: 47.584 grain H2O = 3.090 cm³...

Quick Load for RL-17 and a Few Calibers

Thanks for the info Bob. I am 10 weeks out of shoulder replacement surgery and am going to aim for lower bullet weights for the time being. That Ruger ultralight 30-06 will get your attention with heavy loads.

Quick Load for RL-17 and a Few Calibers

Thanks, RL-17 does appear to be a very good powder for my needs. I'll return the favor any time y'all make it down this way.

Quick Load for RL-17 and a Few Calibers

I stopped by Sportsman's Warehouse the other day looking for a powder that will work well for several of the calibers that I have in the bullet weights I prefer. I had previously read threads on a few different forums and RL-17 kept popping up. While I was in SW I looked at a couple load...

    Newbie Here

Welcome. It's a great forum. It's the most helpful of all the gun and shooting forums on the net. There's a lot of very good people and a depth of experience.

    opions appreciated.

Even the 55 grain 30-30 accelerator only churns up 3400 FPS.

    18" 22-250 Loads

It doesn't look like any of my powders are up near the top of that list. I have been wanting to try Hunter in my 257 Roberts and my 6.5 Creedmoor. I may as well scoop up a pound.

    18" 22-250 Loads

In typical fashion, I buy something then start asking myself questions. I bought my grandson a Ruger American Compact 22-250 for Christmas. It has a 10 twist 18 inch barrel on it. I want to load up some 65 grain Sierra Game King BTSP bullets for him to pop deer with. In the powder cabinet...

Looking for a 257 Roberts.... I found one!

    Great score!

    opions appreciated.

Either will work very well for what you want. I'd focus more on the gun than the caliber.

    MS Buck

That particular management area has very limited permits and IIRC more restrictive seasons than some. Most of the MS WMAs have long seasons, are wide open to the public and have generous limits. The MS River Delta produces some quality bucks.

Something a bit smaller for a change...

I am anxious to see how it shoots.
