The Hornady cases do suffer from short lifespan, 4-5 reloads before the primer pockets get too loose. The Nosler brass I have has extremely tight pockets although I'm still cycling through the Hornady and haven't gotten to use any Nosler stuff yet.
I see that Timney is making triggers for the...
I have two of them. My first was a Ruger Target rifle. I have shot some insanely tight groups with it. Last summer I picked up one of the Predators as I wanted to use my suppressor for hunting. It doesn't have as nice a trigger as the target rifle. I've adjusted it down as far as it will go and...
Well the situation with the hard extraction has not improved. A friend has a 300 Win Mag and we tried my loads and can on his gun and they didn't have any hard extraction. His loads are a bit hotter than mine registering right at 3000 FPS with the 208 ELD. My 210 ABLRs are running ~2830 FPS.
I...
I did some scouting last weekend and saw a nice group of 27. It had a couple legal rams but nothing spectacular. Legal is 3/4 curl here. Season opens September 15.
I have a Ruger Hawkeye in 7/08 that shoots quite well with the 140 AB and BT. One thing to note is that both the 120 and 140 BT are pretty tough bullets that were probably built for the 7Mags but work exceptionally well at 7/08 velocities.
They are the same thing essentially. 6.5 Creedmoor brass is easy to find and several manufacturers make rifles chambered for it. I have two and really enjoy the cartridge.
I'm pretty happy with the 300 Win Mag as well. I'm using Reloder 23 and 190 Bergers and getting .2" groups @ 2950 FPS.
I thought about the same things as you are going through. Doing the math I shoot more for less and the 300 Win Mag will do anything the others will. I wouldn't even flinch at...
I did some chrono work today with 190 Bergers seated right to the lands. I'm pretty happy about this group.

I'm not certain on the rifle yet, probably this new 300 Win Mag that I have been playing with so much. I'm pretty confident out to 700 yards with it.
Talk about shocked when I found out I had drawn with only a .35% chance of drawing! Not only that, its only about 50 miles from home so I can hunt lots of days.
Powder Valley doesn't show it yet and they are pretty quick to get new powders. I always thought the whole copper eliminator was hogwash but I shot 50+ rounds through my 300 WM with RL26 and didn't even get a trace of blue foam. 10 shots of factory Hornady ammunition and I had blue. I've since...
