Ok thanks, that makes sense now. I measured 92.4 on a new unfired fired case. And 97 on a fully formed improved case that’s been fired 2x. I guess the improved case has some more capacity. I was doubting the improved case was much different, but I guess there is some difference.

I ran this same bullet with Reloader 17 at 2920 fps, and it was an excellent load. It was actually the most accurate hunting load I’ve ever had for any rifle. Groups averaged around .125” with the best being .098”

I’m not sure if I did it right but I weighed water capacity on my scale at home and new unified brass I got 93 gr of water and on 1X fired brass I got 97 gr water capacity

I have an old quick load saved on my phone and it says case capacity is 76.826 I’m definitely not 100% sure on my fire formed improved cases.

Never owned the vanguard, but I’ve owned two howa 1500’s which is same thing. They were heavy barreled versions for target rifles, but to this day they are still the two most accurate rifles I’ve ever owned.

In my experience good handloads at modern pressures it will beat the 7mm08 across the board.

If the op has 375 ruger I guess it would just be a trip through the 416 sizing die to have 416 ruger brass though. Heck I guess it’s win win either way 😁 I will say those 416’s have left some awesome impressions on whitetails lol
