In my hunting / varmint rifles I like to seat the bullets .005"-.010" from the lands but have found with the tighter chambers in custom built rifles seating depth makes the least difference in accuracy. So I wouldn't worry too much about something you can't do much about and seat the bullets so...
One thing that causes vertical spread is not pushing your rifle back in the same place in the bags. A fore end stop can help with this. Another is a head wind that's not steady.

I believe your brass is OK but I would use components that were known to be accurate in the .308. The 2 powders you should be working with are H-4895 and Varget. The primers I've had good luck with are Fed 210 and WLR. I don't see any difference on paper in GM210M and the 210 But use the primer...
I haven't found seating depth to make much difference when chasing accuracy. Powder charge makes the most difference and when you have a good load 1/2 grain difference either direction in powder charge makes little difference. I'm showing a load seated .010" from the lands averaging .418" groups...
I've gotten my best accuracy in the 30-06 with 4350,4895 and Reloader 7. All these powders have produced 1/2" or better 5 shot groups in my rifles. 4350 works well with 150gr and up is what I use in 165gr hunting loads.

I wouldn't waste time with fractional grains of powder in a 30-06 size case. A change of less than 1 grain doesn't make enough difference. Your load will change more from one day to the next more than 1/2 grain of powder would make. If the ELD-X shoots anything like the 162 gr A-Max you will be...
Nosler is my favorite 30-06 brass. I took some new nosler brass primed them without any case prep and loaded my hunting load. They shot just as well as once fired brass that had been resized. I found WLR primers work well with nosler 30-06 brass.

I had a fluted barrel H-S precision Pro-Hunter 30-06. It was a heavy taper something like #4 24". With their graphite stock the weight was only around 8 lbs. I found it would heat up and cool down quicker than non fluted but not by much. I have a McMillan stocked 30-06 with a #3 24" barrel that...
I haven't loaded any 180 AB but have loaded 150, 165 AB and would believe the 180 would behave the same as the others. I have some data for 180 gr BT in 2 accurate rifles. One was a H-S Precision Pro-Hunter That shot the 180 gr BT quite well with a average 5 shot group .692". The load was:
W-W...
When I'm accuracy testing I like to shoot two 5 shot groups. 3 shot groups won't tell you anything. I don't know what kind of accuracy you're looking for but 57 grs of H-4350 behind 180grs is a stiff load. Max loads rarely produce the best accuracy so I would back off the powder by 1 gr and go...
Too much freebore is a problem with most factory barrels. I have found Hornady bullets work well with barrels that have long throats. Flat base bullets have a longer bearing and are less likely to get off axis. I once had a .220 swift with a lot of freebore that wasn't doing well 50-55 gr...
I don't know what Nosler does but what I've found to work for me. Neck sizing can extend case life a bit over full length but if you adjust your FL die to where it bumps the shoulder just enough so the bolt still feels the case being chambered case life will be closer to the same. Using a...
WLR primers seem to fit better in Nosler 30-06 brass than Fed primers and I find are just as accurate. I do use Fed. 210 primers in Fed brass. "Once my favorite 30-06 brass" Till I tried Nosler.

Another thing is being able to see the reticle in poor light against a dark back ground. My low light scopes have illuminated reticles and 56mm objectives. Good glass is very important. My 44mm Meopta is brighter and has better resolution than most 50mm scopes I've compared it too.
Billy
Going to a 50mm you're most likely going to have to go with med rings.
Meopta and Swarovski haven't dropped 44mm scopes. I don't care for 50mm scopes either. If I want more than 44mm I go to 56mm. I use a Docter Unipoint 3-12x56 for tower stand hunting. For anything else I use a Meopta...
I picked up a can of IMR-4350 from the Cabelas outpost across the river from me for $26.99. IMR-4350 was the only 4350 when I started reloading and is still the same old IMR-4350 as far as I can tell. This stuff works as well in the 30-06 as H-4350 on paper for me. I wouldn't worry too much...
I've shot a few CT bullets and they shot well but not better than BTs. Same performance on deer too. I have a box of .270 150gr Partition Gold CT bullets that look like moly coated that didn't shoot very well in my .270 wby.

Very interesting! The 150gr Accubond retains more weight at higher velocity than the heavier BT. I have a load in my 30-06 for the 150gr Accubonds that's averaging close to 1/2" groups at 3000fps out the muzzle. I will find out how they work on deer. It's going to be hard to beat the 165gr BT @...
