Thanks - the Ruger is one I have seen on the internet. That might be the way I will go - then replace the stock with a laminated wood. I really would prefer blued and walnut - but then again it's looking like a custom job. Maybe Roger will build a wood stocked Hawkeye.

I have one in .350 Rem Mag and have been very pleased. With handloads using 59 gr of IMR 4320 and .225 grain Swift bullets I can shoot 4 shot groups from a rest of less than 1 inch. Many 3 shot groups could be covered by a nickle. Recoil is not an issue and muzzle blast is OK using muffs...
