    Oregon Bulls

That photo should say " Seasons Greetings" on it. Send it out at Christmas or to your hunting buddies right before opener. Great photo.

    Red Dot

Welcome to the forum and the wonders of reloading. Everyone here just wants you to be safe while loading. Get a manual, almost any will do, and read the front part about loading procedures until you understand it. I like to use data from the manual produced by the bullet maker I'm using to...

    Tikka Super Lite needs scope......

Leupold 2-7x scopes are right at home on lightweight rifles. I never felt under scoped with mine on my M70 featherweight. Can't wait for a range report.

Looking for a 257 Roberts.... I found one!

Well done. She'll like the 1B. I have one in 243. I had to free float the barrel, but now it shoots very well. I have a Nikon buckmasters 2 3-9x40 with BDC reticle and a Prostaff 3-9x40 with duplex. After getting used to BDC reticles, I wouldn't buy a scope without one. Check out Natchez...

Tikka T3 Lite LH.... used price?

I should've mentioned both of mine are RH. I'd say $600 for a LH stainless with a Luepold is a pretty darn good deal. Nice gift for your son.

Tikka T3 Lite LH.... used price?

The two Tikkas I own were purchased used. My T3 lite in 308 came with a crappy scope, was like new at $450 in 2007. My 30-06 T3 hunter with walnut stock had some scuffs and character marks, most of which cleaned up well. it was $379 in 2014. I didn't have to think long about buying either...

    Tikka Super Lite needs scope......

You really can't go wrong with a 3-9 with some kind of ballistic compensation reticle. Still, a 2-7 with the same reticle won't let you down either and it'll shave a few ounces. But you hunt a lot more open spaces than me, so I'd opt for a standard 3-9x40, maybe a compact 3-9, or the 2.5-8...

    New 30-06?

Nice gun Fotis. You'll like the Tikka as they are shooters. While I'm not a fan of the plastic/composite stock on my own Tikka, they certainly are functional. Fully floated and you have to apply a bunch of force to get them to flex. Because of that and it fits and points well, I haven't...

    New 30-06?

I'm partial to the Tikka T3, but in that price range, you could get a Weatherby vanguard 2 with 24" barrel and put it in a Bell and Carlson stock. Enjoy your search.

    Old Binos

Get new binocs for your hunt. Even cheap binocs made today are leaps and bounds better than what you have now. My compact Bausch & Lomb binos from the early '90's died last year and Bushnell offered me Trophy XLT 8x33 at a low price. These are not expensive binocs, but the quality and clarity...

    6.5-06

Cabela's had their Euro Instinct 3-9x40 ext reticles on sale for $250. That's a good deal on a Meopta made scope. The were out at the store near me, but still online. Don't know if they are still on sale.

    270 WSM Mountain Rifle ideas

I've seen a few, but not many, 270 wsm's on the used rack at my local cabela's. Being a somewhat uncommon round, they did not hold their value well I'd say. I saw some nice guns at very good prices. Might want to shop a few used gun racks too. You could end up with a gun with better finish...

300 savage 125 gr. ballistic tip loads

Both Nosler 125 gr BT and 125 Sierra PH bullets shot well out of both my 308's. I hunted with a book max load of IMR 4895, but starting loads were also very accurate. Haven't harvested anything with either bullet, but would not hesitate to deer hunt with either.

    First Mule Deer

Congrats on your deer. I got my deer with a Sierra gameking hpbt too. First time using that model. They are very accurate, no exposed lead tip to damage, and I was impressed with how they performed on game. Mine was not my best shot, but the 165 gr Sierra did the job. Enjoy your venison.

    What's the diffenence

Billy, I'd call Nosler directly to be sure about the differences. In looking over their stock of guns on sale this week, it looks like most of the ones marked "custom" are probably Liberty/Patriot models in a non-standard or "custom" configuration. Some of them are available in a different...

    Hunting Knife - Recommendations

The last couple knives I have made for the Jr. members of our deer camp were made from $9 Mora carbon steel blanks I got from a general store in northern WI. The others I have made came from this website. I have no affiliation with them, but they have a great selection of Sweedish and...

    Forestry for hunting land

That looks perfect. Congrats on a successful first season there! The shooting lanes and trails make a big difference. We like to mark where we want to cut trails/lanes now and go up in late March or early April for a weekend when the ground is still frozen but there is less or minimal snow...
