Poop is right. Been a real tough couple years because of it. Yesterday was the first time I'd seen primers on the shelf locally in at least 2 if not 3 years. I paid for them but at this point was happy to do it. New local shop and he is trying to get in as much as he can. Even commercially...
Thanks for that heads up Fotis. Unfortunately nobody will ship powder or primers to me here in AK so I have to rely on local resources. Pickings are still very slim here in the North.
Grafs had the Speer FN 180's a few months back. I was lucky enough to grab a few. Also just closed a fair deal on Gunbroker for 200 of the 250gr RN's. Personally I'm shooting the 350 Rem Mag but you're right, 35 cal. projectiles are fairly hard to come by still. I'm saving what 225 Partitions I...

Hoping some of you fine folks may have a few recommendations on 300 Bee loads from your experience. She's been in the safe for awhile and I finally scored a bunch of primers today so I'm back to working loads.
I've got the following on hand:
180gr. Ballistic Tips and Accubonds...
A pre '64 Model 70 in 338WM that an acquaintance only wanted $300 for at the time. Hemmed and hawed a bit too long on that one and a more intelligent being snatched it up.
A dead and recovered deer equals success in my book even though we try to be as close to perfect as we can each time. Made a less than ideal shot at last light on a doe a couple days ago myself and decided to let her lay overnight. Not an awesome feeling but she was recovered the next morning so...
Wisconsin whitetail at a friend's place. He had me pegged in the stand so the first one I tried to sneak through the brush at him deflected unfortunately. It grazed his back as you can see. 2nd shot running quartering away caught him in front of the onside hip and exited behind the off shoulder...
I feel your pain Doc. There's been more than one instance I've paid as much for shipping, or more, than the item being shipped. Would figure you'd probably be in the same boat.
The real unfortunate thing with a lot of people is they don't realize that flat rate is flat rate in the US. So whether you're shipping something to Texas or Alaska it costs the same.
Oh well. Run into it all the time. Shipping is one of the semi constant annoyances I have up here. A lot of...
Gentleman won't sell them to me in AK so my loss is somebody's here gain hopefully.
He has some 250's as well.

Even though I have a good stock on hand for the calibers I shoot them in, Accubonds are strictly hunting bullets for me now. I use Ballistic Tips to work the load and just verify with a few Accubonds. The only thing different is the seating depth of the loads in all my rifles. They shoot the...
Whenever a friend or acquaintance that's just getting into firearms/hunting asks what cartridge they should be looking at in a rifle, the '06 is always my first recommendation. Lots of good ones out there but it's the benchmark I believe and just an iconic round as well. Love it.
