Jim, that is a great story. How nice that your lease partners really work to get the youngsters started on the right track.

What cartridges have you used on Big game?

Wow. Many of these lists are long. Mine is longer than I expected. In fact, I forgot a couple and only remembered when I went back and checked my log of animals taken. In addition to recurve bows, compounds bows, crossbows, and a 5.0 liter F150, my list includes: 16 Ga. Shotgun slug 12 Ga...

    Cataracts

The choice of which replacement lens to get is different from person to person. There are several choices, however, insurances may not cover all of the choices.

    No gobblers, but...

Amazing video. I am glad you were able to capture that file of the bobcat sneaking away. Although I have seen many photos of bobcats from around here, I can't recall ever actually seeing one. That would be a thrill for me.

6GT...Who here has one or more?

Ernie, I am not familiar with the 6GT. Could you post a photo of one with a photo of a 243 Win., or 6.5 CM, or 308 Win. or something that I would recognize? Thank you.

    Neighbourly Moose

We don't get visitors like that in this part of New York State. It would be great if we did.

    A Deal is a Deal

Believe it or not, but before Christmas, I think they pretty much just saved the money. I only heard of one purchase being made with the walnut money and that was for a Lego set. I figured that the kids might use some of it for buying Christmas gifts, but I never heard one way or the other...

Trying really hard to sit on my hands.

Patrick, I have a LH SS Ruger M77 Hawkeye in 6.5 CM. Yesterday I shot a 1/4" group at 100 yards with factory 140 gr. ELD-M ammo. So, they can be very accurate. I like them because they are similar to the CRF Winchester M70's with the claw extractor and 3 position safety, of which I have four...

    Barrel Cleaning Products

After using a number of different products over the years, I have settled on the original "Wipe-Out" foaming cleaner. It works for me. I don't seem to have a problem with carbon build up. Maybe because I clean my barrels every 20 rounds or so with Wipe-Out carbon does get a chance to build...

    Most memorable hunt?

It would be difficult for me to pick a favorite hunt. I like them all from hunting rabbits as a teenager with my Dad, to my first deer with my Uncle, to my first large buck, to my first elk, to my first bull elk. All are equally memorable and significant to me. I keep a log of all of the deer...

    starline brass thoughts

After I wrote the above post, I loaded up 6 once fired, and sized, brass pieces and the bullet concentricity was the worst I have ever reloaded. Upon further inspection, the cases are now banana shaped from firing and sizing. Apparently, the variation in brass thickness I saw in the neck runs...
