    Gaudy new gun

That was my thought exactly. I do like the design though. I always fondle the Ruger 10/22's in similar designs.

More reason to "Love" the Guide Outfitters of BC

It's enraged me enough to be involved in a Political battle. I never really get involved in political battles or arguments, but this is pushing to the point where I feel it is necessary. I can't believe it, but I will actually be making a trip down to our local MLA's office.

More reason to "Love" the Guide Outfitters of BC

BC Resident Hunters know or should know that there has been some speculation about the GOABC and the Liberal Party working behind the scenes at the expense of the Resident Hunters of BC. GOABC has given the Liberals donations to the tune of approx. $100,000 and inturn this is what GOABC has...

    An outdoor philosophy

I wish. Up here carrying a handgun is a no-go. I did the next best thing and got myself a Winchester Defender, 18". A mixture of slugs and 00 buck should help with anything around here. One of the problems around here is the sound of a gun shot is a dinner bell for Grizz so they will usually...

    SPOT Locator

I have the Gen II. And yeah it's just a matter of personal preference for the plans. Here in BC, we don't have to pay for SAR so I didn't get the extra insurance for that. I like the Gen II. It's simple, it's basic and it works. That's all I ask for in the backwoods. I haven't researched too...

    SPOT Locator

I have one and love it. They are quite reliable, but are victim to thick brush, deep valleys etc. as is anything with satellite reception. I will take it with me when I go out fishing or hunting the backwoods. I usually send the wife an ok message when I enter the area I am going, I send her...

    An outdoor philosophy

No worries, Guy. Part of my reasoning for this post is that I want to better myself this year as I am going through a tonne of crud at work and NEED to better myself...which includes getting into better shape. I think to some degree, each one of us has taken it for granted where we go and what...

    An outdoor philosophy

So while nerding out tonight in my man cave listening to a fishing podcast and tying flies, the guest was talking about fly fishing in Australia. He said that, "when you enter the water, you enter the food chain". I thought it was a pretty interesting statement and thought it could be applied...

    243 Winchester and short barrel.....

I don't have any experience with it all all, except for wanting one in my safe, however I have watched quite a bit of these guys... https://www.youtube.com/user/TheDartman76 "The Neighbour" uses a .243 at quite long ranges, so i would say it's dependable and accurate.

Nice job so far! Just curious, how do the wild hogs taste compared to regular pork? Stronger, tougher? Better?? I guess we can count our blessings here that we don't have to deal with them here...yet.

    Rush hour in the Kootenays

I would have actually had about 10 more seconds of video had I clued in that I had a camera attached to my belt. We were all sitting there, kind of dumbfounded and the wife speaks up saying to take video of it. I said I don't have a camera with me right now, to which she reminded me that I have...
