The newest Hornady manual list some loads, that are a guideline. The 300 grain bullet is the most common, and Hornady offers two really good ones. They preform well on game.Woodleigh has some .411 dia 400 grain bullets available that you can use.Barnes offers some 300 grain .411 as well.

I tried 18 and 21.3 of H 110 . Neither shot very well for me.The Vit N 110 was outstanding.One big five shot hole.I will try the 20 grains of H110.
I am really starting to believe that H110 and 296 are NOT the same powder like some people say.H110 and 296 have more muzzle blast and recoil than...
Just got back from my shooting range.I found a few loads that are extremely accurate. 20 grains of Vit N110 and the 210 grain bullet. Recoil is pleasant, very tight consistant grouping.Hornady has the load listed at 1350fps out of a 6" barrel.I WILL work some more with that one.It is a heavly...
If the kid is not use to recoil, I would suggest the 7mm/08. That is the perfect round for a young person.I bought my son one years ago ,and it is still his favorite deer rifle.
I would go with a standard weight rifle and not the lightweight Model 7.
The 7mm/08 is the ballistic twin of the...
I personally want a bullet to expend all it's energy inside the animal.I have found that they die quicker.I prefer instant death when I squeeze the trigger.
I get that about eight out of ten times using a 130 ballistic tip from my .270 win on deer.I also get that with my .405 winchester.I have...
My friend who I bought the 5 1/2" Redhawk from ,also has a 7 1/2".He claims that he gets 2" groups at 100 yds using the Nosler 210 bullet and 20 grains of H110.
I just cooked up a bunch of different loads with different bullets.Hope to shoot tomorrow and report my findings.I love the Redhawk ...
I have an old 1952 Mannlicher Schnauer in 7X57mm.It has an old Pachmayer
swing over mount. It is not my favorite mount, but it seems to work and stay in zero so,I don't worry too much about it.The rifle will put five 140 grain BT's under an inch at 100.I use solid one piece low mounts on about...
Guess I need to wipe the dust off of my old Sako Safari Grade .338WM and buy some 225grain AB's and 200 grain BT's.That rifle is a masterpiece,I just have nothing worthy of it where I live.
Anyone use this powder in their magnum handguns?I noticed a full house load is very compressed in the .41mag. I may have to reduce it and use a drop tube.
If I were going after elk I would use the AB or PT.I just like the BT's explosive results on deer. I did kill a large wild boar with it.He ran about 75 yards and died. The BT blew up on the boiler plate on entrance. I found only the heal of the bullet on the far side, under the hide.
I have had such outstanding results with the 130 grain BT out of a .270win on deer and antelope that I wouldn't personally consider using another bullet in that rifle.
Yes a bullet can be too tough.Try shooting the 350 grain Hornady bullet out of a .45/70.It performs like a solid. It might open on a hickory stump, but I doubt it.
I don't consider the .357 mag in a revolver adequate for deer. The .357 mag is legal in Ga. and the .45 ACP is not , go figure? The .41 mag is marginal. It will work provided you use the correct bullet.
I put a Ruger HiViz green front sight on the Redhawk. I like it, at least now I can see the front sight.
I shot some of the Remington 210 JSP bullets today.I got a few good groups, but they don't seem to be as accurate as the Sierra 210JHP.
