Guy I have always wanted either the 500 or 600 Canon. The 500 is always a little less expensive and after watching both on a couple of reputable used equipment sites I decided at almost 60 years old that if I was ever going to get one and have time to enjoy it I better do it now.
So far I have...
Did you make it to Cades Cove on your trip? The concentration of bear in the cove the past several years has really been something to see. We saw 23 bears on Saturday and 29 on Sunday.
Thank You
This particular moma has 4 cubs. These images were of one cub. One sibling was a little higher in the tree and blocked by branches. Mom and the other two had wandered off for awhile.

I saw some in my LGS just last week but that is the first time in a long while. I didn't price it but may have to check my supply and go back. I used it mostly for my C Sharps 45-70 and I don't shoot that one much anymore.
Sure would have been nice if those were available when I placed my order last week for the 6mm 70 grain BT. I always check the 25 caliber and there was nothing at all in .25 when I ordered.
Yeah, if she learns to kill spiders and open jar lids, you're out.
Seriously though congratulations to her on a nice buck and to you on being a great teacher.
The canon full frame cameras are awesome. At least the two I have. Don’t get me wrong the 50D cropped sensor I have is a good camera. But the 6D has a much more usable high ISO. I’ve read that the high ISO on it is better than the 5D IV but I haven’t had time to do a comprehensive test on that yet.
