I know what you mean. Youngest of five for me, kept 4 does one back, each had a litter every 40 days! Couldn’t eat them fast enough. Friends, family and neighbors got free rabbits. But I still enjoy eating them

Don’t ask me why, but it’s what I like. New Haven stainless and Mark V Weatherby. I have one of those 338s and. 375h&h. If I do a good job in the 300wm I will bed the 338

Scotty, just looking at Marine Tex, it appears there might be different "versions". Should I be looking for 302K or something else? Thanks

Winchester Model 70 New Haven CRF Synthetic - Can you improve this stock?

That was the original thought when I bought them, (few years ago) not in the plans now, life happens. The stock actually is not that bad, pretty rigid. Those 1990's synthetic are not as bad as some of the new you get today. It definitely needs the recoil lug bedded. Debating on pillars. (if...

Let's talk freebore... Weatherby and others..

Follower was nowhere to be found, until my friend called FN and got a new one. I found an ejector, but those are still hard. You can always file it down.

Let's talk freebore... Weatherby and others..

I know a friend of mine did it, and I was planning to do it with mine. He gave me a magbox. He got a new 375 H&H follower, he said the new FN M70 works. The other thing, is the ejector on the CRF needs to be replaced with a shorter one. Scotty, you know M70's better than I do, I will have to...

Let's talk freebore... Weatherby and others..

You removed the spacer by drilling out the tack welds and get a .375H&H follower. I am not sure if the one on Brownless is longer. You will still need a follower, can use the .375H&H

Winchester Model 70 New Haven CRF Synthetic - Can you improve this stock?

Thanks Paul. They are the cheap Hogue stocks USRC had in the 1990's. The .243 and .270 shoot well enough to be left alone for now. The 300WM is the one is needs improvemnt. The "hot" glue at the recoil lug is gone on that one. So, recoil lug bedding for sure. The other magnums, I have not...
