Can someone tell me which extractor to use with the .375 H&H?? I assume it is the magnum version not the 300 wby?? Is it based on rim diameter instead of length??
Multiple reasons:
I like metal parts on guns more than plastic
I like the trigger guard profile better than factory
I can torque the action screws without worrying about the bottom metal flexing
If the bottom plastic breaks your magazine won’t stay in the rifle so I wanted something more...
Now I am jealous. Just placed my order for a sako classic last week for sako 85 finnlight 6.5x55. Replacing the factory stock that went sticky. I ended up with a mcswirley he told me it would only be 4 oz. I guess we will see 6 months from now.
My question is do you notice any difference in...
I took several measurements and looks like the bartlein #2b is the closest and also the smallest bartlein makes in SS. It would only be about .05 larger through the length with just a tad longer shank which I confirmed with McMillan would fit in my Winchester hunter stock. McMillan also said...
Does anyone know if a bartlein #2 matches the profile of a Winchester classic sporter well enough for minimal barrel channel changes to my McMillan stock??
I was planning on using my stainless classic series model 70 in 7 mag. It has already been bedded in a mcswirley with a pacific tool and gauge single piece bottom metal and a Williams forged extractor. It is well used by me and very smooth action. It has a swarovski z5 in S&K rings and bases...
Very interesting read thank you. So you think in a standard length action a 308 Norma would be preferable to the 300 wm. Could you elaborate on that some.
I really think I am leaning 308 Norma but when you sit down and look at the pros and cons as I know them as far as ammo and component...
Curious your thoughts on the 300 wm selection after your experience with 28 nosier. Was it just the brass availability or did you have any issues with needing ammo and not being able to find it because of airlines etc. I have had an airline tell me ammo had to be in a factory box. Granted that...
This looks like a great build. Very interested in this I am assembling the pieces for a model 70 build. Trying to decide on caliber got it narrowed to 300 wm and 308 Norma leaning wm because of ammo. Looks like 308 Norma brass available.
I have had the guide gun for a long time with the Xs sights ghost ring. Love it but want to add a scope by adding the xs picatinny rail and a leupold vx3 2.5x8. Question is which rings do you recommend and should they be mediums or high? I assume low won’t work.
Got a great deal on a vx6 2-12 Bc but now wondering if I should keep it. It is still new in the box.
Should I put in on my model 70 classic 30-06 or go with my used Swarovski z3 2-10 BRH??
I don’t typically dial my scopes only when sighting in for a new box of ammo or changing ammo.
Well loved the new Z5 during hunting season this year on my 7mag.
But I was monitoring the Black Friday deals for Christmas gifts and what email comes across from europtic.
New Leupold VX6 2-12x42 boone Crockett for $699 free shipping no tax. Could not pass it up.
My model 70 classic has a McMillan stock that has pillers and I skim bedded the action and it works great. I wanted to be the bottom metal also however I haven't done that before on any of my rifles. I understand how to do it but was wondering if I should tape the sides of the bottom metal...
Well I had a plan when I went into Cabelas but it all went to hell once I got there. I got a 10% off coupon in the mail but you can't use it online. So I thought I would just get the vx5hd.
Well just looking around and saw on the back shelf a Swarovski marked to $1259 from $1500. I asked to...
Would love to have an S&B and those are pretty good prices. Problem is I have about $500 in gift cards and points at Cabelas.
They are running another vx 6 sale. So it boils down to these three scopes.
