New lighting, set up and camera angle on cartridge

I'm with 6mm Rermington on the middle photo. To enhance it you might want to draw a reticle crosshair on the image in the background and then have the bullet in front as the photo now shows. Might be a new and different touch. Great job on the photos.

Guess I'll jump in here and say, African Huntress, you are one classy lady. There are some great people on this site, all willing to help. I can say that with some athourity as they have helped me along the way. Best of luck to you on your upcoming hunt. We will all be anxiously waiting to...

    Best rifle cleaning process

I'm curious so ask a question which may have no definitive answer. No doubt we all have a different way of cleaning a fouled bore but which is the scientifically BEST way to clean it? I've heard/read a lot of opinions/theories preaching to use "X" cleaning product over "Y" product, which...

    Self Guided bullet

The endof reloading as we know it? Far fetched? Maybe. Check this out. http://executiveeducation.wharton.upenn ... Bullet.cfm Can you imagine no longer needing to reload so many test rounds? All that would be needed is ONE round and joula, your game is down. Makes today's technology...

    De-capping a live primer ????

I tumble the cases prior to decapping. The reason I do this is the tumbling media will plug up the primer pockets and it's a real pain to have to pick the media out of the primer pocket. Once tumbled, I decap and resize. Last, I clean the primer pocket and I'm redy to proceed. Cleaning the...

Just so happens I have a custom 300 H&H which I received as a gift from my cousin. (Since I am not good with computers and picture posting, if you go back to Dec. 16th (page 8 in the current archives of this site) look for my post, "A new pair of rifles" where you will find a photo of...

    Synthetic stock?

Has anyone done a switch of a factory issue wooden stock to a replacement synthetic Remington stock and if so, how do you like it? I am considering a switch from a standard Rem. 700 BDL wooden stock to a synthetic camo Remington stock for my recently acquired 280. Good or bad comments...

$50 gun, what to do with it?

Well, if it were me, I would raffle it off (illegal here in Wisconsin unless you have a raffle license) or give/sell it to a charity (Your local Lions club) and then let them keep the money raised or sell it to them for the $50.00. As the unsolicited title of "raffle king" for our local Lions...

    New loading bench?

Wow! There are some pretty nice loading benches/rooms etc. posted here. Mine's a pretty straight forward "home brewed" setup. I was fortunate to have some good friends that were remodeling their kitchen and had a set of very nice wall and base counter cabinets (oak) that they were removing...

How to work up a load

Dr. Mike ...."Probably...but perhaps not. Loads that are shown to be below "Maximum" in our test rifles may prove to be too hot in your particular firearm. It is important to understand that maximums vary with several factors, such as temperature, even within the same gun. That load you worked...

    280 loads with rl-22

I am starting to develope my first loads for my 280. Not too long ago I inquired about a variety of loads for the 280 with 140 BT's using 4831, 4350, and RL-22. I really appreciated the many responses and several loads were recommended using either 4350 or 4831. No mention of anyone using...

    23 ?

I've had a 23 for a number of years and find it an excellent weapon albeit, a bit large for ME personally. I am looking for a 27 for a CCW for my wife right now. She is quite tiny (5' and weighs in at around 98-100#'s and the 23 is too large for her). For a middle sized person and up, the 23...
