I might as well throw in my $0.02 worth here too.
I have two bullet pullers, a RCBS kenetic and the Hornady Cam lock. I do NOT like using the kenetic puller and prefer the Cam lock. The only thing I don't care for is there are some small linear marks from the collet jaws on the pulled bullets...
To all who have responded, I appreciate your comments and recommendations. I'll move to the mag primers and see where that goes.
None-the-less, I still have some questions.
DrMike; You stated, "Cold weather calls for magnum primers."
I have no disagreement with your statement but curosity...
Loading for my 300 Win mag and now the 300 H&H mag has caused me to ponder, which primer is "right" and why I should be using one type versus another. Reloading manuals seem to differ for the same loads.
I've been loading 71 gr of 4350 pushing 165 gr PT's for my 300 Win mag for a number of...
The powders I have on hand are
IMR 3031
IMR 4350
IMR 4831
I've been loading 71 gr of 4350 behind 165 gr PT's and WLR primers for my 300 Win Mag, with pretty good results. Only problem is the cases are pretty darn "full" and some powder compression takes place. I have used a small...
A while back I posted that I had been given a nice 300 H&H. Since I have not yet started to shoot it, I'd like to prepare a few good loads as "starters" to get a feel for this rifle. I was thinking of using 165 or 180 grain "Partitions" but could be persuaded to give Barnes Triple X a try...
I've been loading 165 grain Nozler "Partions" for my 300 win mag using 72 grains of IMR 4831 for a long time. That amount of powder fills the cases up to the base of the case neck. Thus far I haven't run into a problem with powder compression using that combination. To try and save some...
It opened fine for me. DaveA37, highlight the url w/o the quotation marks, then copy and paste into your browser. It should open fine. Perhaps your AV is prohibiting migration.
DrMike....Same problem happening. Site opens then quickly goes to another blank screen. Is there a way to copy/paste...
A friend gave me a 300 H&H mag which is still in fairly good condition.
I aleady have a custom built 300 Win Mag which serves me quite well for deer and elk, etc.
Basically, the 300 H&H and the 375 H&H cases are pretty close to the same except for length and neck configuration. The lower...
I've been reloading rifle and pistol ammo for some time but, I'm new to muzzeloading. I have a brand new (still in the box) Knight "Traditions" rifle which I won at a local DU banquet and also a never fired, (new) Thompson Center "Hawkens". Both rifles are 50 cal.
What load would you use...
My wife's hands are indeed small but she CAN grip the Glock well and
she does pretty well getting her shots on paper. I figured with the laser grip, she would not have to take the extra time she NOW takes to place her shots. If she would need to hit her target quickly, the laser would give...
Wisconsin laws do NOT allow for scope sighted muzzelloading guns during a special muzzelloader season that follows the regular 9-day rifle season.
However, muzzelloaders CAN be scoped sighted for use during the regular gun season.
What are the laws in your states/provinces related to using...
I have a Glock 23 (.40 cal) and am consideing adding laser sights so my wife can use it, should need arise. She has very small hands and weighs in at just over 100#.
Would adding the Crimson Trace grip to that Glock be a good selection for someone her size?

I've been reloading my own hunting ammo for some time but have never tried this senerio.......
Say your working up a new load in .308 cal and want to use 165 gr. Nosler "Partition" bullets as the final selection for hunting purposes.
Is it possible to work up that new load with a "Ballistic...
