    250gr XTP recovery

You wouldn't want that. Hornady lists 1600 fps as the recommended max velocity for the XTP. Above that velocity, you want to use the sturdier XTP Mag bullet, which is 240gr. There are also 300gr versions of both. I have used both the 250gr XTP and the 240gr XTP Mag bullets in my 45 Colt Henry...

    A simple Misunderstanding

Interestingly, after posting those pics above, if I go back and refresh the page, I can't see the first pic anymore (the one with the Henry rifle). I can only see the second pic. If I edit that post, both of the pics show up again, until I refresh. Very strange.

    A simple Misunderstanding

Can you see both of these pictures? The first picture is just a link to a photo-sharing site, and the second one is directly attached to the post.

    A simple Misunderstanding

For whatever reason, I see nothing when I view this post on my phone. Even if I view it in "desktop mode." But if I go on the computer, I see the cartoon pic.

What kind of scope are you using? Does it have enough magnification to be precise with your aiming?

So, you've raised a valid point: "I am not a great rifle shooter." I don't know how you quantify that, but any time you are evaluating accuracy, you need to take yourself out of the equation as much as possible. Otherwise, you don't know if the issue is the gun, the ammo, or the shooter. The...

    85gr Solid Base

I've got a couple boxes of those that were given to me, but I haven't shot them yet.

IMR 4064 with the 95 BT's. I think IMR 4166 with the 85 GKHP. It's similar to 4064 or Varget.

FWIW, I have one rifle that I keep as a loaner, and have it sighted in with the 100gr Federal blue box that you have on the bottom. That load will shoot just a bit over 1" in my rifle, and has accounted for 4 deer by a young lady friend of mine. Also, my kids used the 100gr Remington CoreLokt...

Your 1:10 should stabilize anything up to about 100gr. My bolt gun (Marlin XS7) has the same twist, and I shoot the 95gr BT and 100gr Sierra GK quite well. As for deer, This one was with the 95gr BT: This one was with the 85gr Sierra GKHP: I've killed them with the 100gr Sierra GK, as...

4350 is considered to be the go-to powder for the 243, so you were right to start there. And, it may not be the powder that's the problem. Your rifle might not like the Accubonds, regardless of powder. Try some other bullets instead.

Try IMR 4064. I've gotten good groups with it and the 95gr Nosler BT in my bolt gun. Right up near max load.

    360 Buckhammer season results

Guy, can I ask a small favor? When you have a minute, can you measure that Hornady bullet? I'd like to know the length from the base of the bullet to the top of the cannelure. I want to compare that to the lead bullet I'm working with. Thanks in advance! Brian

    360 Buckhammer season results

Thanks for the info about the FTX bullet. I had been wondering about it, and contacted Hornady to see if they had load data for it in 360 BH (they did not). I'll cross it off my list. And thanks for the bullet pics, that looks good. Just to update the thread, I've been working up a load with a...

Ran into issue with RCBS handprimer

I have a Frankford Arsenal Platinum hand primer, and it's great. Shell holders to fit pretty much every case, adjustable seating depth, very solid.

    Spending a hundred dollars

Sad but true. I recently picked up a Burris Droptine 3-9x40 for my 360BH. It was about $120, IIRC. Burris has become my bang -for-the-buck scope, now that Nikon is off the market.
