Jmad- Awesome rifle and some fine shooting. Nothing wrong with a 140gr AB for killing critters. My favorite 270 bullet for sure. Great build any way to keep it a secret. Bet that was tough huh!
Steven- Plenty of good advice already given to you. With all the new bullets being developed you can't go wrong. A 243 will kill a large muley just fine. I wouldn't hesitate to use mine at ranges past 300 yards either. I think your wife will be just fine. More important IMO is load her up as...
Whit what velocity did you use? In a 7mm mag you should be able to get 3100 easily with the 150 etip. If you want to use a lead free bullet for long range 600 yards plus. I would wait another month or so. The new Barnes 168gr lrx should be out soon. I personally don't trust lead free bullets for...
That is the standard bolt on a standard cheap adl. I am guessing your are referring to the bolt being jeweled? If its just a donor action I wouldn't worry about it. If you really want it jeweled your smith should be able to do that. I would go with either coating it as well as the barreled...
A simple skim bed will probably cure your problem. Make sure to clean the aluminum very well and bed. Also once bedded you can check to make sure the barrel channel is fully floated.
Fotis- Which model are those CEB?? Do they have the seal tight band?
Here's a rifle I know you guys will like- I though it was a pretty cool build.

USMC- here is a target my brother and I threw together this last winter. The vitals are cut out of 1/2" plate and have some hinges welded to it. The plate is bolted to the body and swings when hit. Its been fun shooting at it as you can hear/see the vital hits easily at 650. Have plans to build...
Woody- What is your load with the 105Amax? I built a 243AI and love it. Using lapua brass Ive found it to really shine.
Rem- I forgot to mention in previous post and it has been touched on a bit about your rate of twist. 1:8 should be fine though. My bro's is a 1:8 and he has been shooting...
DT- Some great advice already given. Is the rifle bedded? I suspect a good bedding job would help it out. As far as the 243 looks like a good start. You will love the 95gr VLD. My 243 loves them over RL22. The performance on game has been great for me. Good luck and keep at it!
Rem- My brother built a 6-06 last year and it has been a great rifle. His is somewhat of a tight chamber and neck. I can tell you it shoots 105VLD over H1000 into bug holes @ 3250 with ease. Necking down brass is no problem using a bushing die. It would make an excellent 1k rifle with the...
Sounds like an extremely overbore rifle to me but also fun. You would essentially be building a 6mm Mach IV without the steeper shoulder angle. If you are already planning to rebarrel you could trade the Mag bolt for a standard bolt and have the action buleprinted and you would be fine. Then you...
H1000 has been the only powder I tried in my 7mm. It has given me great accuracy and burns very clean. Good luck with the etips. Im interested in how they shoot for your friend. Been considering them myself. One suggestion is start with at least .050-.100 jump to the lands.
