Such a fun gun to shoot, tried out a few loads while fire forming brass and breaking in the barrel. This was the first 5 shot group of Staball 6.5 and Hornady 62gr VT avg 2905 fps. Going to work up some more loads and get more brass formed!
Fantastic information! I was skeptical at first, but your input has made me beyond excited about the possibilities. Sweet looking gun you have there. I'll post pictures when I get some loads developed and then the results of those loads on game! Thank you, sir!
I was mistaken, it is a 13" barrel. I'll probably load some 62-grain ready for varmints at all times, and then when I have pigs or deer in mind, I'll work up the heavier bullet load for that. Should be able to get that lighter bullet flying at a decent speed. All my stuff has come in and I'll...
H4831sc just seems to shoot well. What ambient temperature were you shooting these groups at? I noticed that my zero shifted slightly from 55 to 98 degrees, but speed stayed consistent with a 20-shot average, although the SD and ES were a little higher with the added heat. Very dry and hot in...
I purchased the short-throw handle and side bins from Inline Fabrication for the Co-Ax. You'll be happy with it! Mine needed some breaking in and was a little rough at first, but now it's very smooth, making the work easy.
I am not sure what optic to use, I am thinking a pistol scope with a better FOV, but I am interested in what you're using! I've seen people using standard rifle scopes when using a tripod, but not sure what to use when freehanding. Thanks for the information. I will work up some loads and post...
I just purchased a 22 Creedmoor rabble bolt action pistol from Horizon Firearms. It has a 14" barrel and I plan to use it as a truck gun, maybe pigs from a blind. Could someone work up QLD so I know where the signs of pressure and velocity might be? I'll be using Peterson brass, Federal 210...
It was a factory Tikka rifle, from what I understand, he took many guns to the same gunsmith that shot half MOA., and it’s a shoulder install done by the same guy. I don’t know much about the rifle since my grandfather has passed away. But I do know he was a complete snob for grouping. At one...
I was recently helping my dad sight in his 25 Pronghorn, or a .300 WSM necked down to 25, and noticed an extreme inconsistency between shots at 100 yards. The rifle was my grandpa from 12 years ago, along with all the ammo that was hand-loaded around the same time. We would have a POI where...
I purchased some Peterson brass and started over on the load development. I started with the OCW method using once fired hornady brass, after upgrading I used the hornady load development method using 3 different powders, H1000, H4831sc, and N560. I ended up with some great groups using...
I finished load development with my 7 PRC, found a lot more successful grouping when I dropped the powder charges and sacrificed some velocity. I ended up with 62.4 gr of H4831sc in peterson brass shooting a 168 gr Barnes LRX.
2868 FPS
ES: 28.6
SD: 9.8

Some results after testing 9 shot ladder tests today. Gonna work up the ones that were similar in velocity and where they grouped on paper. H1000 and N570 look promising.
The first eight rounds, which were shot this morning, were used to look for signs of pressure before working up. It's probably at my maximum with the N570, so I will back that down. I'm going to explore the nodes I can find in some of the other powders (velocity/impact relation) and go from there!
