Hi Guys,
I was just given a bunch of ammo in many different calibers some old some new. Some of the boxes say "Non-corrosive." What makes it non-corrosive and why is some ammo corrosive? With the stuff that might be "corrosive" can the bullets be salvaged? I've got about 2000 rounds of 06 that...
Hey POP,
I haven't purchased any bullets yet so you tell me. By the way, thanks for the recommendation on the imperial sizing wax! Sizing has never been so easy :grix
Hey Guys,
Just picked up a nice rem 700 Tactical in 223 (with 20" barrel). Looking for a bullet/load recommendation. I will be shooting in weekly shoots (100 and 200m off-hand).
Thanks,
Mike
Hi All, Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Anyway, what is the final word on twist rate. What I mean is, for a given caliber is a fast wis rate (e.g. 1:9 vs. 1:12) designed for a "heavier" bullet? I just don't get it! I have, for example, a rem. 700 in 308 (1:12) and get near identical...
Hey Guys,
What can you tell me about the Ruger Mini 30? I just picked one up with 700 rounds and extra mags. Total cost: $100.00  Person wanted the gun "out of the house." Seems to be more and more of those opportunities popping up. Remeber I'm from MA  Anyway, I just registered...
Hi All,
My Dad is looking to buy me a chronograph for my birthday. Something I need but would probably never buy myself (because when I have extra money I always buy a new gun- I've got a problem :? ). Anyway, I don't want him to spend a lot of money. Can anyone recommend one that's not too...
Hey Guys,
I've been looking through some of my older shooting/hunting supplies and came across several nice scopes that are missing their windage/elevation adjustment caps. Has this happened to anyone else
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew of a company that sells replacement caps?
Mike
Hi Guys,
Any of you big fans of the 22-250 rem? Is the 223 rem as effective as the 22-250 for ranges under 200 yards?
Mike
p.s.
As a side note, I am getting rid of some 22-250 reloading supplies. See the Classified Forum
:)
If you reload, I would go with a 7mm x 57. Flat shooting even at mid powder ranges. The variety of bullets is great too. Maybe a nice 140 gr Nosler Ballistic tip. Heck, I bet it won't be long before the E-tip is available in 7mm as well. Hint Hint for Nosler
Mike
Hi Guys, I have a few questions about lubing inside the neck before resizing:
1) What do you use for lube?
2) What technique do you use to apply lube (especially wax)?
3) Do you remove lube before seating the bullet?
I have personally never lubed inside the neck but read on this forum that...
Correct me if I'm wrong Nosler but:
Nosler seconds have only cosmetic blemishes. At least that's the case with the ballistic tips 2nds that I have purchased. Weight and performance is what you would expect from Nosler.

Hi Folks,
I have a couple of pounds of old powder (Varget) that got wet in a flood. I want to dump it but not sure on the best (safest/legal) method. Any suggestions on how to do so?
Mike
I have about 200# of moose meat left over from a hunt last year. It is vac. packed and still tastes as fresh as it did a year ago. How much longer do you think that meat will last? Anyone have any good stories of "old meat"?

Very little "meat " damage as a result of the broad-side shots. The 4th shot that hit the bone (in pic) was the only one that appeared to expand and did cause massive damage as described above. Nosler (correct me if I'm wrong) but I pretty sure the E-Tip is not all copper but some...
