    Pentax Rifle Scope

I was recently shopping around for a 'less expensive' scope to put on a new varmint gun. The shop owner had me take the scopes outside and compare. Scopes ranged in price from $180.00 to over $2000.00 (he didn't realize I was on a budget). I was amazed to see that the clarity of the pentax...

What do you use to clean your cases?

50% concentrated simple green 50% hot water. 1. Put cases (de-primed) into bucket with liquid. 2. Let sit for 30min. 3. Pour liquid with cases into sink. 4. Rinse with cold water. 5. Dry with heat gun (or hair dryer). Total time ~ 45min for 500 cases and the best part... ot residue no nasty...

Could someone please tell me the difference between the ballistic tip and the silver ballistic tip? I have always used the ballistic tip for hunting but would like more information (practical) on the silver tip. Thanks, Mike

    Rifle Data Book

Thanks for the info. I keep a detailed reloading log but I have not kept data on individual rifle performance, number of shots fired, conditions, etc. for each rifle. I guess I am looking to creating 1 book for multiple rifles that includes reloading data. I have 6 new rifles that have not yet...

    Rifle Data Book

Hello Everyone, I have never used a "rifle data book" before and was wondering if any of you incredibly knowledgeable and experience3d shooters had any recommendations. What I usually find with these types of things is that no one book is great and I usually make-up my own. Has anyone out...

    Are YOU ready?

old #7. I like the way you think! I have the SBE II and have a rifle barrel to go along with it. Those 3 1/2 shells do more damage than my 10ga! 250 rounds of turkey loads and 250 slugs

    Are YOU ready?

Hi Fellow Gun Lovers, I was recently visiting the “ready.gov” website where there are recommendations listed for an “emergency kit” in case of a possible emergencies- both natural and “man-made.” As I was reading through the items on the list (which were all good items to include) I was trying...

I've got to agree with you Wboo! I brought the same issues a few months ago! I think that all current registered users of the Nosler Forum should get a significant discount! Think about it, in reality we are all “Field Testers” for Nosler products! All of that valuable feedback we...

    Nosler 2nds Brass

Can anyone tell me if Nosler's 2nds brass is chamferred, deburred, weight sorted +/- .5 grain just like the real stuff? Is it really only cosmetic flaws that make them 2nds? Has anyone had any problems with this brass? Mike

    7mm rem mag vs. 30-06

Just wondering, for those of you that have hunted medium to big size game, how many of you prefer the 7mm mag over the 30-06. I have always used a 30-06 for deer but decided to use my 7mm mag. for a moose hunt last Fall. The Mag did a nice job (with some help from Nosler): 90 yards, 150 gr...

Deer Hunting with a .308 win?

Hi Friends, hope you are all doing well. I have a question. Why is it that in my neck of the woods many hunters refer to the .308 win as the “Gangrene Gun?” We all know that shot placement with any caliber is crucial, but why pick on the 308??? With good loads (powder and bullet mass) the...

Suggestions for Building a Shooting Range

Good info, thanks. The one nice thing about the area that I plan to construct this range is that the range would be facing a 700 foot (very steep) mountain (which I own). Again, thanks for the info. Mike

    Mixing powder lots

I do the same thing with 10# of Varget! If I can't find the 8# cans I usually buy 10 singles and mix them in a small tub. I find that it's better not to dump one full container at a time. Iusually pour ~ 1/8 of each container into the tub, mix and repeat until done. Mike

    Spotting Scopes

I'm interested in purchasing a real good spotting scope that will be with me for a long time and will be used primarily for viewing targets up to 600 yards (and maybe 1000 yards someday). Kowa seems to be a big name but it gets confusing when you're looking at different eyepieces, etc. If anyone...

    NoslerCustom Brass: Worth the $$$

steve4102 Boy, you're right about shopping around. Thanks for the info. I made the mistake of ordering the brass directly from the Nosler website. It would be nice if Nosler could match some of those website prices for there own brass!
