28 Nosler and Redding Bushing size

Helped a friend load some 28 Nosler and there was a thousand or two difference in the lots of Nosler vs Hornady brass that he had. I could look up the bushing size we used if you don’t get an answer from someone. I d just need to get in my shop. Let me know.

    257 Weatherby

Both good choices. See which one shoots best. The 257 Bee is way overbore so you can go slower burn rates than these 2 if you have anything. Shot some R33 in mine with 110 AB a while back and 3500 fps was easy with no pressure. Didn’t try going any faster; no need. Accuracy was 3/4 moa at...

    Primers.......anybody seeing them show up?

Starting to see them more frequently but pricing still high. Over time I think we ll see $50-70 1K prices but doubtful we ll get back to $30-35 a thousand. That said $50-60 per thousand is “fair in my mind” but not the $100-120 everyone wants to gouge for still. When more folks quit paying “...

    Most fragile .224 bullet?

An in-expensive alternate is the 50 or 55 gr spsx Hornady. (SX for super explosive) These bullets both designed around 222 and 223 velocities. Often a 22-250 will turn them into a molten mass of copper/lead.

    7 Rem Mag - RL22 Update

In my 26” barrel 66 grs of R22 tan 2975 fps with 162 AMax. 1/2-3/4” 100 yd groups. Any more powder and groups opened and velocity increase wasn’t that great. Retumbo would run 3075 fps ish but either of those loads performed great.

170 grain Ballistic Tip in a 270 Weatherby?

With that heavy bullet might find even slower powder working good…. ie: Retumbo, 8133, R33, etc

    where are the bullets.

I can’t believe the buying frenzy is as rampage now as within the past couple years. The bullets are either going into loaded manufacturers ammo or the bullet companies aren’t producing as many for whatever reason…. ie: short staffed, cost/availability of copper and lead, keeping supply in...

    221 FB QL Data Request

I worked up to the Hodgkin max LilGun load of 16 grs with 40 VMax years ago …. Too hot for my gun. Stiff bolt, primer pocket expansion in one firing, etc. Backed off to 15.4 grs and helped out. Don’t like case fill with LilGun so that ll go into my Shotshells loading. Went to AA1680 at 18 grs...

    QL, R33 240 Weatherby please

Thx TD284 👍. Have to measure some more capacity; right now looks like it ll take a lot of compression to get to pressure. May not get there.

    QL, R33 240 Weatherby please

Been running R26 in my 240 WB with lots of case capacity remaining. Wondered what R33 might do and how much I could get to with 100% fill. Looks like slightly north of 60 grains. Anyway, would someone be so kind to run me a QL on the following data? I m thinking this exercise might be worth...

    22-250 1:7 twist

I ve shot 36.6 grs of imr4831 in my 8 twist 22-250 with 80 gr Berger…. 3/8-1/2 moa. Sierra has it as their accuracy load in one of they re older manuals. Probably want to back down to 34 grs or so and work up as you re using a bullet that’s 6% heavier.

    Working with Reasonable Priced Supplies

I doubt it’s temperature stabile. Group some of those you loaded and see what they do when it’s 80-85 degrees out. Can play from there. Good luck.

    Tubbs Final Finish

If you re going to use all the number 1 compound I d forewarn you that those will lengthen your throat probably more than the other 4 grits. If your rifle is shooting satisfactory accuracy wise Tubbs instructions will tell you to use grits 2 through 5. Those will smooth it up and reduce copper...

    Tubbs Final Finish

I ve done a good dozen rifles with SSS (Tubbs) Final Finish. I only use it on factory barrels like Rem 700 s, Weatherby Vanguards, etc. I ll get a new rifle, clean it bare, no copper, carbon or anything. I will typically fire 1/2 of the bullets (5) of grits 2-5. I ll sometimes do 6-7 of #4 and...

    QL for 257 Weatherby

Thx Mike…. Those predicted velocities are moving!! R33 forecasts moving that 110 AB at 100 gr bullet velocities! Appreciate the help.

    QL for 257 Weatherby
