Tried it with the expander ball removed and a different shell holder. One of the cases seemed like was working, it went in 3 times, then on the 4th try no go, tried it again and same thing, the other 5 cases were no change.

I used it in my .270 wsm with decent results using 130 and 140 grain bullets, the 150's were not as good though.

I would go with the ruger or the 1-8 twist tikka, they are much more versatile than a 1-12 twist gun. I have a ruger that I bought in 2006 that is a 12 twist and constantly find myself wanting to sell it to get a 9 twist. Save yourself from the same fate and get a 1-9 twist the first time.

I use the 100 grain partition in mine, with 42.7 grains of imr 4350. Works well, shot a small buck with it two years ago at 50 yards, behind the shoulder. He dropped in his tracks!

I shoot a .243 wssm and the only time I will use a mag primer is when using win 760, as recomended by the wssm zone guys.

Yes I am planning to have it mounted, I've waited too long and may not ever get one this nice again. My wife isn't real crazy about it but she will learn to accept it I'm sure.

Thanks for the comments fellas, it was quite an experience and yes the nosler BT was really put to the test on a close range shot like that. As expected the bullet didn't exit and I never did find it , but it certainly seems to have done it's job! .
