Thanks Dr Mike. One of the two that my wife bought for me.
Here's the other, a 300 Win Mag Model 70 Laredo LRH. Not as fancy but beautiful nevertheless.
KD, that tractor still running? I love them old tractor. Never own a farm and didn't grow up in one either but I was around them growing up in the Philippines in the 60's. Behind our property was a large sugar cane plantation and love seeing those Farmall's, Allis Chalmer's, Massey Ferguson's...
Been riding my mountain bike a lot more since January, averaging 100 miles a month. I will turn 56 this September and I feel great. I will probably throw in back packing as soon as the weather cools down a bit. I need to get ready for New Zealand hunt next June.
Well, I will be shooting the 105 A-Max at a reduced load. I was experiencing pierced primer with a hotter load of Reloader 15 in a 100 degree day. But then again I was using a 205M. I will go back using the 7-1/2 since the primer cup is a bit tougher than a 205. If this thing can withstand the...
Congrats Joel.
My 6BR will be in action at our local 600 yard match for the first time this weekend. I'm still working on the load. I will finalized everything Friday. I'm having pressure issue with Reloader 15 powder since I don't have enough Varget. Man this cartridge is very temperamental.
I think I will take my 6.5-284 Norma but I will use Accubond instead of Berger. Anybody here tried the long range accubond. I wish they have the 140 on the long-range rather than the 129.
Here's the link to the outfitter.

Guy, I have seen the type of terrain they have down there and it begs for a light carrying rifle. The stag is no bigger than a muley, so any of my deer rifle will do. My 300 Weatherby Acumark would have been perfect but I just sold the darn thing (been thinning the herd) So it will be a toss up...
Thank You DrMike.
Man it must be the signs of time. We're in economic doldrum here in the state. There were at least 100 people that attended the banquet last night but they're having a hard time auctioning the African and New Zealand hunt. We could have gotten the hunt for 2G but the organizer...
Me and a buddy attended our local Deer Association banquet tonight and put a bid on a four day stag hunt in New Zealand. It's an $8,000 hunt for 2 people and 2 stag in the 260-290 SCI range. The final bid was $2,500 and me and my buddy won it. There's an up charge of $2K for SCI Silver and $4K...
Songdog you must have Superman's eye.
On a man size silhouette target, a 3-9 or 10X scope is plenty up to 600 yards. At 1K it's a stretch but still doable. My favorite magnification for hunting is 4.5-14 and I seldom go above 12X. For 1K shoot however, I like the versatility afforded by 6.5-20...
Depends on the size of the target. For man size target, a quality glass at 10X magnification is plenty. For paper punching however, you need at least 20 to 25X. A 6.5X20 or a 5.5X22 scopes will give you flexibility in the field.
