While the accubonds design is tailored for range shooting I see no problems using it in tight on any game. I have taken moose and elk with a 160 ab out of my 7mm rem mag which were 100-150 yards, no problems experienced - pass thru's or tucked on the opposite hide weighing in 60% area for...
I agree let your rifle choose which one to use. My 270 likes 130 gr PTs and BT's so depending on what it maybe used for I feed it accordingly. Seeing it has become a backup I have just stuck with 130PT's and then if called upon I am covered for larger than deer game.
140 BT or AB would be my choice as well. I have never got great results on paper with 120 gr out of my 7 mags, so i have no experience with them on game. 140 or 150BT's have worked just fine for me on thin skinned animals...I don't mind a bigger hole in the ribs though  !
My 7mag likes 7828 with 160 gr pills but 4831 performed alright as well. In my case the velocity was closer to 2900 fps with IMR 4831 if i recall right, unfortunately don't have my notes handy to double check. I settled on mid 3000's with 160 AB and 7828, it performed very well on range and in...
Agreed
Previously I used IMR4831 with great results but RL22 is becoming one of my favorite 7mag powders. I'd try 63 - 67grs of RL22. 215GMM is all I use in my 7 mags now.
Tried the Nosler Accubond yet? IME no penciling with this bullet and will work from thin skin antelope to heavy skinned moose with good results. If your hunting elk or moose the 160AB should work nicely if your rib puncher. If deer are the main prize either 140 or 160AB will do nicely. I have...
I doubt I have saved much by reloading but it has been worth every penny! My ability, confidence and knowledge are much higher now as a reloader. I know I can develop a specific load for a usage which is very satisfying personally and extremely useful for hunting antelope to moose with my same...
I too know of people using the NBT on elk, however I personally feel they are walking a tight line. IMHO their is no need to chance it when other better suited bullets are available to the hunter. If he likes the BT, then an obvious progression to the AB would be a great place to start. My...
Only .284/7mm 120gr bullet Nosler currently produces is 120BT that JD338 mentioned.
Not a nosler but you could look into the 120gr TSX/BT if your worried about the BT.
7mm RM has stuck for my all arounder antelope - moose.
Custom 7mm rem mag on 700 action with Zeiss Conquest - 05' it produced 5x5 bull elk, 5x6 whitetail, mule deer doe and this bull moose.
If the bear is on tap for the 7rm then I'd look to the likes of Noslers 140 or 160AB or 140, 150 or 160 Partition. While the NBT is a great choice for the bou or deer it isn't ideal for a blackie. They are not hard to kill but respect must be given to the large muscle and bone structure in...
Either the 130NBT or 140AB will work fine. I don't subscribe to the NBT is to fragile for 3000fps guns, my experience suggests otherwise. We are victims of our own making these days in some ways, a deer does not need a premium bullet to be harvested cleanily or effectively...no harm in using...
My general rule of thumb for hunting is 70gr of powder or more gets mag primer. I live in Sask, Canada so it can be cold and with over 70 gr I have exeprienced a few problems with 300's and LR primers or 210's. Upto 70 no delayed or misfires that I have witnessed.
In the RUM with 90 (plus)...
I agree the 150 NP. I used it in the past to harvest a couple of elk and moose. 140TSX would be another.
I always had good luck with H4831 in the 270win. H4350 in the 270 was a good performer as well in terms of accuracy little slower in velocity though. RL 19 showed some promise as well...
Fuzzy, I don't consider myself an expert but personally don't consider Butchs, Shooter Choice MC#7, etc a good copper remover. Yes they will pull some copper and do fine on powder/carbon/lead fouling but aren't strong enough to get all. I have tested many all in one solvents and always found a...
I agree stick with what you know and has worked. I was taught the same as you but in other than bolt guns such a practice is almost impossible without disassembly of the rifle (Ie: carbines, etc). I think the biggest concern is pushing the debris and solvents into the chamber/action area, so...
Here is a link to nosler load data posted on shortmag site for 7mm WSM.

Also can try searching or posting on the shortmag forum, for more specifics to the AB.

Good luck and hope it helps.
Agreed for deer the 150 BT's will work just fine out of your 7mm RM. It has been my most used bullet for deer sized animals and I have yet to see this oddity of them not getting er' done. I might add I hunt in Sask. Canada where our bucks regularily top 300lbs on the hoof.
As for moose &...
