Another easy way to find Remington bullet B.C. data is in their catalog.
They list the B.C. in the last column on the pages where they give all the velocity, energy, and drop data for their factory loadings. Quite interesting to see the differences in some of their offerings for the same caliber.
I own a Reminton 700XCR chambered in 300WSM. It has the same 2.86 inch magzine length. I have had little trouble getting accuracy from it, having found good loads for the 165 Accubond, 180 Partition, 180 Sierra ProHunter, 168 Barnes TSX, etc.
My rifle does not seem to mind the jump to the...
Well, this may well be frowned on here on the Nosler forum, but I agree with you that for elk/bears, etc. you do not need a premium bullet in your .375 H&H.
I bought a Remington 700 XCR chambered in 375 H&H and had high hopes for the 260 grain Accubond. However, my rifle just does not shoot...
I would suggest you try the Barnes TSX and Tipped TSX in your .257 Wby Mag.
I own a 25-06 and it shoots the 100 grain TSX quite well. I have taken some really big hogs with it, some at over 300 yards, no problems.
I have not shot any game with them yet, but my gun also shoots the 80 grain...
I, for one, am a little confused. Why own a Remington Model 7, which is a light, compact rifle then saddle it with such a huge scope?
All the scopes mentioned are great products, but in my opinion, just too big for such a rifle.
I personally have Leupold 4.5 X 40 LR scopes on most of my...
As usual, I would agree with JD 338. My dad has one of those Remington 700 LSS rifles and it shoots great, looks good, and with the 26 inch barrel gives some IMPRESSIVE velocities.
They were a limited edition, but there are still a few around. Might have to have your retailer check with his...
Pop, I have been shooting with glasses for over 50 years and have had little problem seeing through rifle scopes.
I imagine you just need to focus the eyepiece on your scopes to the new glasses.
I was terribly near sighted all my life until last year when I had cataract surgery. After the...
Congratulations on the hog, and that is a way cool scope, I like it.
You just never know with hogs. I live north of you in central CA and we really enjoy hunting the hogs. Sometimes you cannot get within a half mile of them and sometimes they act like they just do not know you exist.
The...
Elmer, there just does not seem to be a lot of data out there for the 7mm Dakota.
I looked in any number of manuals and Hornady is the only one I see that has the 7mm Dakota in its books. I see no reason you could not use the data for the 175 grain Hornady so long as you start low and work...
I totally agree with Antelope_Sniper, try the CCI's in another rifle and see if the problem persists.
I seriously doubt that the brass is the problem, and if the rifle will fire Federal primers I cannot see why it would not fire CCI's.
It is unlikely that you have a bad lot of primers, but it...
If your son really is set on a 300 WSM I would suggest he buy the Remington 700 SPS or XCR depending on his budget. You can get into the SPS for some really good prices.
I own a Remington 700 XCR in 300 WSM and am very happy with it. It shoots well. I have had NO feeding problems with it...
You have some good responses here, but I guess I will add one more.
I have owned and shot a number of 7mm Magnums of various sorts.
In my opinion, if you reload, the 7mm Wby Mag and the 7mm Rem Mag are about a toss up. You will be able to get more velocity with the Weatherby, but not a big...
My best load for the 165 Accubond in my 300WM is a max load of H 4350.
However, I use the magnum Federal primer, (Fed215M). The WSM cases may be short, but they are FAT. They are burning a lot of powder. I use FED 215M primers in my 270 WSM and my 300 WSM. (Have to admit I have never tried...
Corbin, as a clinical scientist, I can tell you that repeating an answer and getting the same results does NOT mean it is correct.
It is comforting that your 25-06 gave the same results as previously tested, but they could be just as wrong.
For starters, you load is a good deal over the maximum listed in the Hornady Reloading Manual. However, I still doubt that the velocity readings are correct.
Chrony's are notorious for giving high readings when they are not set up properly. Several people I know have had this problem.
I...
I don't know, you just have to approach it logically.
If it is a well established caliber that you just have not loaded for there should be plenty of data available. I would consult as many reloading manuals as you could. If it is a new caliber, just out, utilize the internet and check with...
Well, I have to disagree with most posts here, my Remington 22-250 rifles will not shoot 55 grain Ballistic Tips worth a darn either.
When that bullet first came out I had to try them. Found they would not shoot well in my 22-250 rifles. I called Nosler and they admitted that the 55 grain BT...
