That 80.5gr load looks good to me. It would get you any elk as long as you do your part. Good hunting.

Good that you got it figured out. I'm interested in how they perform for you. Worked with a guy years ago that used this bullet (factory load) in his Remington Mod 760 35 Rem. Said they did well.

Leupold 4x12x40 with the Creedmoor reticle on both of my 6.5x55s. The holdover dots correspond well with loads 2700-2800fps and it's a good fit for my area of hunting. I sight dead on then the first dot is 200yds and the second is for 300yds. Works perfect for me as that is as far as I want to...

I was 11 years old and remembering watching the landing on tv. Had two older cousins that had been drafted into the Army and had and was in Vietnam, so we watched tv catching up on current events.

Fine shooting for both and load developing for your 7mm08.

The late Mike Venturino wrote about making shot loads for snakes in his six guns. Best I remember he loaded them in the same cases as the calibers he was loading for. There was a picture of a shredded potato he used as a target, and it was pretty impressive.
