They have a single band just like the 200g but maybe it's not as deep making them a little heavier.

DrMike, they show them both at SPS under 338 blems. I have a box of the 201g that shoot real well in my 338 win.

Blkram, I totally agree, the .338 or .340 WBY. with any weight partition is a real elk rifle and I have been hunting them with every thing from .270 to .378 WBY. For 55 years. Another over looked bullet that works very well is a 200g Nosler BT at 3000 to 3300 fps.

This was probably to easy but the first load I tried in the wife's new WBY. Camilla shot 3 shots touching in a horizontal group. Load was from Nosler book, max charge of RL17 2850 fps. from a 20 in. barrel, OAL 2.750. I'll shoot it again to verify but some times I like it to be easy.

They have 26 in. barrels, the ultralite shows 28 in. because it comes with muzzle brake. The velocity crown is from larger case capacity.

Salmonchaser, those 300s really like IMR7828, if you have any it is worth a try. Years ago I switched from H4831 and gained velocity without any pressure sign, it works well in .257 to 340 Wbys. and also 7mm Rem.

I know two people who use nothing but 150 g partitions in their .300wbys. and at 3550fps they are absolutely deadly on elk. One fella is 80 years old and has shot more elk than most people have even seen. It may not be considered a long range bullet but at that velocity who cares about BC ?
