h4350 is going to be a little slow for the garand in my opinion. the op rod my not like that choice. i ran into the same problem as almost nobody wants to give load data for a garand because of bent op rods. the best thing i could recommend is getting the hornady loading manual as they list gas...
If you know how to get water capacity of the fired and unprimed case it would probably get you much better results. the quickload water capacity of the 300 saum is 73.5 grains which is less than the listed capacity of the 7mm saum. i think this gives unusually high pressures for the calculated...

pop if you go to the propellant setup table(the button with the 1,2,3 on it) you can tell it what burn rate or case volume you're looking for and it will exclude all powder that doesn't fall in that range

The older nef's that were built on shotgun frames were not the strongest but the newer ones with i believe serial numbers after N are strong. If you go to graybeard outdoors web site and go to the nef forum you'll see that they are loaded pretty stoutly and are considered to be equal or stronger...
You also must remember pressure signs are relative. For the most part the pressure to flatten a large rifle primer is going to be the same for any given catridge. If the max saami pressure is 65000 psi you can see pressure signs very quickly. If its a 35 remington you can be very far over...
Can't really speak for the 168's but 154 and 139 are 9 and 10 gram bullets so they convert easily for the rest of the world especially for the metric calibers
Seems according to my version which i haven't upgraded on this computer yet, you might be over max rated pressure around 51000 psi which is pretty low but its supposed to be a big low pressure case. i think pop has the newer version which i haven't put on my laptop yet.
Of all my non military weapons Ted has one up on me because they have killed less than his car. I really wish i could have them here with me because the carbines are so much fun to shoot although i think i need to get rid of one of my inland's. I bought a winchester, 2 inlands and a quality...
Ialso don't know who the best manufacturer is but i now have four but unfortunatly I can't shoot them much since they stay in georgia with my nephew since they are evil assault weapons and i can't have them in new jersey. The ones through the cmp are pretty much mix and match at least the 4 that...
Just read my post and it sounds like i'm not thanking you pop. Anyway thanks i decided to use 43.8 grains with the custom comp and 42.8 with the 165's. See how they shoot when i get down to see my nephew in georgia. Any body live around southern georgia that hunts pigs? I Would love to go.
thanks POP i have quickload also but i was wondering how to figure out what loads would be good. I used IMR-4895 with 49.5 grains with the 150 grain fmj to get a muzzle pressure as a baseline. than i figured if i match that with varget it should be good. I just didn't want to assume so i was...
Does any body have a range for Varget with 155 gr. custom comp. and 165 gr. BT's for use with varget in both the garand(30-06 and 308) and M1A(308)? I have these on hand right now so its the only powder bullet combo's i'm interested in right now. I'm assuming that a good load in the m1a for 308...
