    Marlin 45/70

Can't think of a better "truck rifle". It will stop pretty much anything in NA within a 150 yards or so. I have two 45-70's (Ruger #1 and a reproduction 1877 Sharps Creedmoor) and have grown to really like the caliber. Some day, I may add a lever action to my small collection.

    Ruger Hawkeye M77

DrMike, Thanks! Yes, I am a fan of the 358 Win. Mine is very accurate as well and especially likes 225 gr. NP's as well as 220 gr. Speer Hot-Cors. I originally had my heart set on a 35 Whelen but found a great deal on the Winny.

    Ruger Hawkeye M77

Enjoy your Ruger M77! I have two; an All Weather 358 Win and new Mark II heavy barrel Varmint/Target in 6.5 Creedmoor. I own a number of rifles (Rem 700's,Tikka, CZ and others) and the Ruger M77 Hawkeye's are my favorites. The 338 Win Mag is a good elk caliber for sure.
