Years ago they had the same argument over at a website called snipers hide. The guys who were neck sizing said they were getting the best bang for the buck. One of the really accomplished Shooters over there called BS and pulled out his old FL dies and took his favorite load and punched out a...
I have several sets of 3006 resizing dies and my hornady's resize more than my lee or my RCBS or my redding body die.
Just above the base where the die stop sizing the hornady's always have them a good .003 smaller than the other dies.
Just for Giggles you might want to take some measurements...
I just remembered I have a 3030 that does light strikes..... I had some ftf with wlr but the federal 210 have never missed a beat.
I was never upset at the wlr because the strike dimple was so shallow....
I changed out probably 60 to 80 rounds of loaded ammo to different primers. Luckily I have a collet bullet puller which was pretty easy to use. My method was to pull the bullet...dump the powder into a cup... gently push out the primer and reseat a new federal.... put the powder right back...
I believe there are some reports on the WLRm also. But I haven't seen nearly the frequencies of the wlr. You may want to take those lot numbers and call Winchester. I think my offending primers were somewhere in the four to eight year old range but I'm not 100% sure. I'm guessing if it...
I think this link will get you where you need to go.... they are collecting Bad Primers... and either replacing them or giving you money back....

Well.... that's good but seriously do that Google search I posted above.... shortly you will find an 800 number at Winchester to call with your lot numbers and find out if they're bad primers.
I have no doubt that Winchester knows how many bad primers are out there and are refusing to do a...
As always dr. Mike has excellent advice....I'll add a little more.....
You might just be lucky they didn't ignite with the reputation wlr primers are getting for having pinhole leaks and burning holes in bolt faces.... I'm glad I'm down to my last three hundred because I never intend to use them...
A good shooting gun is usually not terribly fussy...... but...... if it decides it doesn't like that bullet no amount of perfection in reloading will correct that. Some people enjoy living on the edge.....lol!
Holy crap... is your gun ported? If not you aussies are tough Sons of Guns!
In my defense I will say that the recoil pad on my Marlin was pretty darn hard but anytime I get over 2000 FPS with a 300 grainer it's kicking me a heck of a lot more than "mild".....lol! My other gun with a steel...
I have a very fussy CVA single-shot 708. Unless I run ammo down around 3030 type pressures I get vertical stringing because it's a break open Action. I'm Runnin 37 grains of Varget under the 160 ab for a speed of 2330 out of my 20 inch barrel... even at this low pressure it burns nice and...
I've been studying the data on 7977 and have come to the conclusion it's a virtual twin to re25 .... everybody's mileage may vary but I would use re25 data and work up comfortably for my purposes..... and I just checked my pamphlet on Hodgdon powders and it says 49 grains is max with a 100 grain...
Well....the beauty is in the eye of the beer holder..... that's why you can pay about an $1 apiece for Norma and about $0.85 a piece for Lapua.....lol! And that's in 308 you're probably going to pay a little more for other casings! If you truly have a good shooting gun it's not really going...
A while back my buddy bought a fair amount of SSA brass in 308. We looked it over pretty close checking neck thickness on a fair sample. We decided it was not quite like you might get with Lapua or Norma.... but was very much like what you would get with Remington Winchester or federal bulk...
Awesome setup.....laser beam speed.....a the bullet with a bc that pretty much matches most 120 Cup n cores... and on game performance that most likely actually exceeds 120 cup n cores!
7977 is a virtual twin to re 25 in burn rate. Another new powder on the market which is really giving a monster boost to the 270 Winchester and would probably play fantastically well in the 2506 is Re 26.
