    Grip-n-pull???

I don't notice marks with my Hornady puller unless there is something pretty strange about the neck tension. Sometimes over time the bullets will take a little bit of a set and need to be cracked loose... if you have enough shank to allow for it push them down about five thousandths of an inch...

    Grip-n-pull???

Love my Hornady too...and I'm not sure why.... but when I pulled bullets with a Hornady Collet puller neck tension seems to stay relatively intact which I did not find with my old Hammer type puller.

    Nosler 168 BSB?

Every pic of a bsb that I have seen it looks like a recovered Swift A-frame.... big old chunky lead Mushroom on the end of a shank and almost 100% weight retention. So if you're a member of the "a frame" or trophy bonded Club these could be your answer!

    Hunting Bullet Inventories...

I live in town...about 15 miles from a decent public range.... I know a guy just outside town with his own private 440 yd range. Damn...I'm jealous! It's not that I have too many bullets in inventory its that I live in the wrong place!

    Brass Prep Machine

I have the RCBS trim station sitting right next to an RCBS Electric lathe. I use the 5 station trim Station quite a bit but more so in conjunction with a lee hand held trimmer and universal drill chuck...it's fast, cheap, and no settup. On the other hand I think this machine is supposed to trim...

Keep Check On Your Nosler Brass! Update

One thing I've always enjoyed about Norma brass is that their necks come out of the Chute feeling fairly soft.... and they seem to stay that way longer..... whatever their annealing or alloy mix is i think they have it one hundred percent right. AND... the run-out I get on Virgin loadings...

168 Nosler Ball Tip vs Hornady ELD Match Test on Water jugs

Another great test thanks for taking time to do this. I believe the eld x match will be just like AMax and a lot of people like them for Long Range hunting..... where velocity is likely to drop off under 1900 fps.

    Another Winchester Primer failure

Kinda looks to me like that bolt has taken more than two hits? The little pitts are not a safety problem ....you could maybe check your brass and see if it maybe makes some marking on the base when you shoot it but it should be not an issue. I'm not so sure that resurfacing is so easy.... if...

    E-Tip inquiry

I'm not really sure if it's a relief groove or just a kind of a big cannelure they're not very deep and theyre about .060 wide. On some bullets theyre just below where that ogive starts and on others they're kinda farther down the shank. I usually pick mine up over at Shooters Pro Shop as...

First time loading the ELD Match

Awesome results! That's the way it's supposed to work on paper and by golly It did! Re milk jugs.... I don't think you need to line up more than six jugs and probably won't need more than 4 or 5. I would expect performance just like the previous amax but maybe we'll be surprised.

Gearing up little project for a buddy... according to a couple manuals 61 to 62 of re22 is a good one to work with. What else ya got? I've got lots of different slow-burning powders on hand....just looking for more ideas!

7mm 160 grain Accubond actual BC?

Varying twist rates between rifles can make a difference too. If I remember right some of the Litzs own Research exposed that idea quite well. One could even imagine a big difference between an accurate rifle and an amazingly accurate rifle.

PowerPro MR2000 not listed on QL

I can't find any recalls on Mr 2000 but there was a recall on unique powder. I know my gun shop has had Mr 2000 hand for quite a while. I did some comparisons with my actual results with Mr 2000 in the 308, 708, and 3006 versus big game on quick load. It tracked really well in the 7mmo8 and...

PowerPro MR2000 not listed on QL

Good job fotis.... I just spent some time cross-referencing mr 2000 in my hornady manual which has a quite a bit of it and The Ram shot website and they are Dynamite close! I sure like how the ramshot website uses lots of different bullets.... going to have to run some of my Chono data with Mr...

    Pulled Bullets and Neck Tension

If my feeble memory is right I used to have neck tension troubles on bullets pulled with a hammer type puller too. Once I got a collet puller for some reason it seems like the neck tension stays in place better. Here's where having a Lee collet neck die comes into play real nice.... you can...

Full length resizing verses neck sizing

I strive for pretty straight ammo and usually shoot for .003 or under. not all guns seem to be terribly affected by run out. Years ago my buddy bought 2 boxes of federal match grade 308 to shoot in his new Savage Le rifle. We were pretty shocked to find one third of the two boxes of ammo...

    Sharpen trimmer cutter

The non carbide cutter is $15 bucks.... the carbide cutter is $34 and probably wouldn't need much sharpening.... not sure you can do much monkeying around for those prices. I have the RCBS electric lathe trimmer.... but find I hardly use it anymore I pretty much use the Lee depth stop Trimmers...
