When we were building this house, I told my Bride, this is the last one. She told me to set up a area for my stuff. So I added a dormer to the river side.
Now with the wolves we might move farther East, but I don't think we'll build. I got one more move in me, but I don't think I got another...
No circulation. Warms the whole house, easy. We keep our bedroom door closed to keep it cooler, so we can sleep. My Wife likes to sleep with the window open, year around. I use her for night security. She 'Hears', I look.
I do not know the stove brand, it is a air tight design. It will...
A wood stove is all I have. When we built the house, we didn't put in a forced air furnace. I have a couple of those wall mounted electric heaters, if we have to leave in the winter. Just to keep the water from freezing.
I've always heated with wood. The house is well insulated and tight...
I was working down in OK, when this guy, Jerry, asked me to help him trap hogs. I joined him to set this trap in the bottom of this creek.
It was made out of hog wire and steel posts. About 50' square. The door was something he had fabricated to trip when it was set. It was short enough...
Also, I read somewhere that Ramshot Hunter is a great powder for the WSSM family.
Read a story about a fellow in PA. shooting a .223 WSSM across the canyon. Was hitting what he was shooting at, with a 80 grain bullet, at 900 yards. Realy impressed the other big bore boys that were there.
I head shot a coyote with a 95 grain CT, out of a .243 WSSM, at 626 yards. Hit him on the second shot. Called the wind wrong, on the first one. My load is real close to what Fotis posted. I tried to duplicate the factory load.
My rife is a Model 70 Stealth II, with a 8-32 x50 Burris Black...
When you men pick a different bullet, how do you figure out the load? Do you do a ladder test, or do you just a few of each?
I like the ladder test, myself.
I have a dog with me at all times. She stays with me or the horses. Good distraction when you run into a bear. She tells me when the wolves are close. Real good company.
I'm with you men on that.
A few years ago Guy Miner asked about having several rifles. All of them in all stages of build. Or put all your money and time in one good one. With good glass and work up a good load.
Boy I've thought about that a lot.
Other then old levers, and keepsakes, I'm...
