Sako makes very fine rifles indeed.
Weatherby is pushing their Vanguard Camilla very had. I've just saw pictures and lacking female form I don't know what to think of it...
Weatherby Vanguard in 257 Weatherby and long freebore. The rifle had less than 50 rounds when it shot this group of 100 grain Swift Sciroccos.
The freebore does make it a bit tricky to decide where to start seating.
I had 3 pierced WSR primers out of 16 loads in a New Ruger American .223. I had the batch for about 4 years. I had been using them in a Contender .357 Maximum. No problems there.
I only use CCI 400 in the 223 now days and no piercing issues.
I understand the interest in the new IMR powders.
I am using an estimate of IMR7977 in QL using the burn rate for H1000 with the load density of IMR 7828. It's tracking well in my loads for the 7mm Rem magnum.
As far as the 243 Winchester, the new IMR 4451 is likely a better fit.
I have some...
The Accubonds are very popular that's why they are tough to find. As mentioned in other posts Shooters Pro Shop is a good resource. Setup an account there and put the Accubonds on an alert to get notification when they are back in stock. Don't be afraid if they're blems. I picked up 150 of...
I remember reading somewhere that Speer stopped doing the dual lead alloy cores for the GS bullets.???
You can pick-up Nosler Partition Blemished bullets at or less than the cost of the GS from Shooters Pro Shop. You would be hard pressed to tell that they are Blemished. A lot of people on...
I ran a test of the same loads using CCI 250 magnum primers. The results were not statistically different than the sames loads using CCI 200 standard primers.
So, it was time to add more coal to the boiler. Latest range report all loads using IMR7828...

Thanks but I'm running quick load already.
Just finished measuring and averaging case H2O capacity now that I have fired cases. It averages 64.98 over 5 cases. Nearly a full grain over SAAMI spec. Which I suspected.
When I re-calculated I got velocity predictions very close to what I...
I saw several mentions of RL-22 in articles about the 240 so figured MRP should be close.
Results from this morning's range session... Fired 3 rounds each over the Magnetospeed bayonet.

I just took delivery of a Weatherby Vanguard (Wilderness model) in 240 WBY. It's the third Weatherby cartridge cartridge for me and the 6th Weatherby rifle and the 5th Vanguard.
I'm looking to start out loading with MRP and IMR 7828. I have those on hand and need to base-line the rifle as well...
Got some loaded over IMR4451. Haven't tried them yet. Will Report back...
BTW: The ones I received from SPS were labeled "F-Tip". So was the box they came in.
The tips I thought were black are actually very, very, dark green. ???
I ran a QL test on the Maximum once not long after I installed the software. I have shot the 357 Max a lot and have load data. The results I got from QL just didn't reflect what I had from experience. QL is a bit flaky on the small straight cases. AA1680 was the best powder in a Contender 10"...
