I ran into a .311" partition bullet in a bag of blem 7mm partitions. Nosler didn't make a .311 partition then or now I don't think. Myself and another forum member got batches of 140gr blem ballistic-tips recently with grey tips rather than red.
I use a comparator on any bullet without a plastic tip to measure seated depth. I will sometimes use it to measure to the ogive on plastic-tipped bullets for loads that are very accurate and transfer that off-lands distance to a new bullet load. Otherwise for just loading a batch of...
On a whim as part of another order from SPS I picked up some Nosler 86 grain banded E-Tips. They came today. I discovered that there is no mention of these on the Nosler web-site.
The package label and the invoice as well actual shows the as "F-Tips" . I guess that's a typo???
I also noticed...
Gunner46 quote " I've said it before and I'll say it again. If your rifle won't shoot a BT, then look at your load, your rifle, your sights...........don't blame the bullet." (y) Amen.
(y) For sure. The blems let you shoot Nosler bullet for the price or less of inferior brands.
I setup my ProChrono when I was using it at 10-12 ft. It worked well as long as the light was right. I had a Chrony before and it was flaky at any distance.
These days I use a MagnetoSpeed V1 and it eliminates all those concerns. The MagnetoSpeed Sporter is around $179 discounted. Although...
Has anyone been brave enough to upgrade their OS to Windows 10 and if so does QuickLoad version 3.8 run under Windows 10?
I see that a version 3.9 is being offered on the QL Site along with a data upgrade. It says the 3.9 version is compatible with Windows 10. I ordered the data upgrade but...

That's exactly why I have stayed with my old beam scale for weighing powder charges. I find it less trouble to setup than a digital scale and I trust it to hold it's zero. For weighing brass though the digital is far more simple especially if you have brass where the weight falls between 218 -...
I have one and use it for weighing brass and it works well for that kind of work. Mine seems to hold zero for that task although I don't use it to weigh powder charges. It cost me a princely sum of $29.95. I remember seeing a post here that suggested dryer sheets could help with static electricity.
I own both HS Precision and B&C stocks. Both are fine stocks.
The B&C is less money and has a bedding block running the entire length of the forend, although the HS doesn't have issues with flexing.
HS doesn't have a check-piece on their Alaskan stocks. The regular B&C stock does have a...
The burn rates for the two powders are identical in Quick Load.
I would guess that sometimes the list ranking powders that Quick Load generates is somewhat determined by the parameters that are used to generate it. As an example you an specify the max Load ratio if it is set to a maximum of...
I just ordered QuickLoad. In the mean time I got busy and started checking water capacity in some cases. I have weighed cases previously but never did the water comparison. Out of 3 different 7mm RM makes the capacities ranked about as I expected based on the difference in dry weight and my...
