Luckily, my father is a lifetime machinist. I had him turn a stagger feed Savage long action into a center feed for feeding from AICS style magazines.
I'm not sure I would need longer than 2.8" though. What applications would you think the 3.0" would benefit?

6.5 Creed on the left set to 2.750" and a 243 on the right at 2.800". 130gr accubond both necked up with a KM mandrel. I think any case capacity I gain with the larger case is negated by the bullet in the powder column.

A full custom 30-06. Classic cartridge, fully updated platform. In the 8lb range with optic, Manners stock, Kreiger 4 groove 10 twist, flush fit detachable mag. I've never purchased a custom action, so I would go that route.

I shoot them in the plain 223 in a 9 twist at 2850 fps. I use a Wyatts DBM set up with the rifle so I can seat out to the lands. My remington has a ridiculously short throat, I put them within 0.010"of the lands and so far have made hits out to 450 without a problem.

I was excited for a minute about a stainless action trued up for just a bit more than the model 7 from PTG until I read how how the NSS actions are trued. They just true the action face and lap the lugs, which any good gunsmith would do while building a rifle. In my opinion, they are geared...
I'll definitely look into these. I'm a bit concerned about brass availability for the 300 Savage, which was what had me pointing towards the 6.5 Creed. The Redding has my eye, basically an improved 270-08 with a slightly moved back shoulder.
I have one piece of brass from a range find, with a...
I found you really need to keep the pressures up to lock the bolt back on the big AR. If you have any questions on it you can always send me a message. I've loaded a lot of different combos in bolt action and AR 338 Federal.

I'm starting to plan this year's build and think I want to go wild. Wildcat that is. Not anything overly radical but niche to say the least.
I love the 6.8 SPC round and would like something similar to it but with a bit more punch. After talking with another member, I think I've decided to...
Do you plan to load for it or keep shooting factory? I have an original LR338 from DPMS, absolutely love the rifle, just don't take it out often enough.

I don't have my data in front of me currently, it's either 31 or 31.5gr H322, loaded to 2.260" with new Gold Dots, not pulled. Using old SSA brass with a Fed AR match primer.
Rifle is a 20" ARP barreled 3 groove Triad. Does real well keeping pressures down.
Here is the 115 I keep in my truck...
The 115s look just as good, just more shank. The petals peal back and open right up. I order a few boxes every time I need other bullets.

I used Superformance in the 30-06 with 165gr ballistic tips in a Mossberg ATR100, proved to be extremely accurate every time I've tested the ammo. Just never went out in the field with it. I have other rifles to hunt with that haven't taken game yet, but I always keep a pound on hand for the...
I'm waiting for midsouth to stock the 75gr gold dot for my new 22-250 8T for some coyote medicine. I've got a few 168gr loaded up for the 30-06. I need to send them downrange at some point.

I like how they took all the upgrades to the Forster Co-Ax and integrated them into the first iteration of presses, but it's a huge swing and a miss on how the dies go into the press. I looked up the prices on the blocks your die goes into, 16 bucks for 3.
What's everyone's thoughts on this...
I chrono'd some loads with RL16 yesterday, no where near advertised speeds. New Dogtown brass, first time using it, SB LR primers. 70gr Varmageddon loaded on top of 45gr RL16 netted me 3334 for five shots, 41.5gr with the 87gr Vmax gave me 3035.
Barrel is 24", and after yesterday's range day...
I've got some 69gr TMK loaded up to try on coyotes. Gonna throw a bunch more 60gr Vmax down the tube to help in break in. I don't do a significant amount of load work up until I've got about 60 rounds down the tube.
