    2013 Hunting Pictures

A little late posting, but from opening weekend... Thought I'd share a pic of a 10 point I shot with my 270 Wby and a 130 SST. Velocity is 3450. Distance was appx 130 yds. Lung shot and hit a rib on the way in and the way out. Deer hit the deck where he stood. Bullet stayed together pretty well...

    WTB: 6MM 105 Amax's

Please pm if you're interested. I have a smattering of .224, .257 and .277 bullets for trade, although I would like to just buy the Amax's outright, if possible.

    257 Weatherby Loads

70.5-72.0 of RL-25 with 115 Ballistic Tips. This combo has been superior in both of my 257's. Best velocity and accuracy.

Ha! No! How much you asking?

    240 Weatherby or 6mm-06?

That's a darn cool gun, Truck, but I already have a 257 Roy.

    240 Weatherby or 6mm-06?

No question, the 6-284 has many attributes, but I'm concerned about the feeding issues many report, especially since this will be used as a hunting rifle. In addition, I already have a ton of 25-06 brass and also have a little 240 brass as well.

    240 Weatherby or 6mm-06?

What about re-sale? Seems the 240 may be easier to sell.

    240 Weatherby or 6mm-06?

Think I'm finally ready to start building on an 8 twist Brux, 6mm barrel I've been sitting on for the last several months. Admittedly, I'm a total Weatherby fanboy and have been leaning towards the 240 from the beginning, but am now thinking about the 6-06. Only reason why is, I have a boat-load...

    .257 Weatherby factory ammo, velocity?

    110 Accubonds and Bobcats don't mix!(Graphic)

Thanks SJB. It's become my "go to" rifle as of recent. I like it for it's consistent accuracy and deadly performance on game. I especially like not having to worry about beating it up during the normal rigors of hunting. I have a Mark V Deluxe 270 WBY Mag that I absolutely love, but am...

    110 Accubonds and Bobcats don't mix!(Graphic)

I'll normally take a pass on a Bobcat. For some reason, I prefer to observe vs shoot them. However, the owner of the ranch I hunted last weekend issued an edict to shoot any Mountain Lions, Coyotes, Bobcats or Fox we see. Said he has too much money invested in his animals and can't risk losing...

    25-06 and RL17?

If you have any H4831, I'd give it a try. It IS by far and away the best powder I've found for the 25-06. Not quite as fast velocity wise as RL17, 19 or 22, but much more consistently accurate.

    25-06 and RL17?

Fotis, 5 shot groups of around an inch and 3350 fps were the norm with 53.5 gr and a 100 BT. This was with a 24 in. barreled Rem 700 Classic. Accuracy was a skosh better with the Sierra 100 gr. Pro Hunters. (1620).
