Does anyone have a good seating depth for a 160 Fail Safe loaded into a Remington 700 Classis? I know there's a couple of you on here who owns them in this caliber. I did a search on this last night but couldn't find anything.
You can safely use 72.0 grains of RL-22 with that 160 AB. ..great bullet...buddy of mine SMASHED a caribou at 500 paces with a 200 Gr Ab in a 300 Ultra-Mag this past spring...great choice..
Nosler2, thanks a bunch for replying to my post. I still haven't sold the Kimber, now I'm not sure I even will. it's a really nice piece, I'll never get my money out of it.
Gonna have to get on the ball for the Glocks though....but now huntin season is here...bears await..
somebody at Nosler "obviously" likes Glock, otherwise the forum would not have this section. I am working on selling my Kimber 1911, (Sorry Mr. Cooper), and purchasing 2 new, OD green Glocks, one a 32, 357 Sig, the other a 20, a 10 MM. The 10 is for traipsing about Alaska when a BIG BORE is not...
I have one in 375 H&H, shoots great, super slick rifle. Plenty accurate...see this pic of a group I shot with mine.

The Zeiss conquest line is basically a American Made German product. Parts made in Germany, assembled here. I have an American series 1 inch tube Swarovski 3-10-40, and that Zeiss beats mine in every way. Light gathering, adjustment tracking, return to zero, eye relief, clarity, and ruggedness...
With a shoulder shot, yeah. But how hard is it gonna be to NOT shoot a deer in the shoulder in your own words of "close range"? The idea is to blow the lungs right out onto the ground so they can't breathe with them anymore right?
You should be able to use Barnes data CAREFULLY. Fail Safe's are very similarly constructed.

Also, just so ya know...that would do fine for the game your after up here. Moose are tough, but no tank, black bear are rugged, but an AB will do them in fine. Caribou can about be killed with a sling shot.
Go with magnum primers for the belted rounds though..better ignition for the colder...
I sure did, after I posted this request. He says he will sell me a drop in stock of his for $450.00. It's a little spendy, but I am gonna do it I guess. I hate the stock that's on it...one more paycheck...
Gentlemen, I have one of the Colt Light Rifles in 7 MM Rem Mag. You know, it's the one that is sort of an Ultra Light Arms Rifle that COlt bought into a few years back. Superbly accurate rifle, but the stock is about the cheapest tupperware you can get. I can get a stock from the REAL Ultra...

HS Precision makes a fantastic stock for the money. It is the one with an aluminum bedding block inside. makes for some fantastic accuracy/consistency in your groups. I have one on a new Remington and I like it. There are also Brown, Bell and Carlson, MPI, Choate, Ram-Line, Etc. But for a REAL...
