    Really disappointed

My last batch of Nosler brass can in 0.004" short of MAX. length. After 4-5 firings it has settled at 0.002" short. Right where I like 'em! Too short is better than too long, and if I needed to trim long cases, I trim them about 0.004" short. Just me,

    High performance Clothing?

I remember some 2 piece (top & bottom) Bifold cotton LJs from the '50s and '60s. I still have some in the back of the hunting clothes closet, I just looked. They are kinda bulky to wear under Levis, but did keep me from freezin' to death. My younger hunting buddies now wear some style of...

    Primer pockets ,1st firing ?

Looks ok. Primer manufacturing and primer-pockets depths may have enough difference to leave more or less of these deposits .

    Neck Tension ?

If your ammo as originally reloaded functioned fine then do as has been suggested, using the neck or FL resizing die, your choice. Personally, I would use the neck-sizing die, as I have done successfully for many years. Best of luck,

    Complementing Cartridges

When folks talk about all-around cartridges, it always pleases me to see these 3 words; three-seventy-five (H&H), what a grand old work-horse.

    High power binos - 15 X

If ya know somebody that has a pair of the 15s, try them for a weekend. Walking-around glasses can weigh a lot if over 10-12x for reasonably $ glass. Vortex 15x60 are about $650 and might fit the bill, YMMV

    Older Hornady book ?

I refer to Nosler #1 from time to time. Pretty consistent for the ones I load.

    Winchester 71 or Browning 71

I've owned 3 of the older Winchester 71s, one was a deluxe. A very nice rifle. It shot the Win. factory 250 gr. silvertip ammo into 2" at 100 yds. with the apeture sight mounted on the left rear side of the receiver. I have looked over the newer Browning 71s and must say they are well made, but...

Great day at the range. Lever day!

Forty-five 70s are fun for sure. Now if we could get Nosler to furnish a great 300 gr. bullet.

    New Lightweight Savage Rifle

A .308 with a 20" barrel. Handy, but may be a tad loud. They are said to weigh about 5.5 lbs.

    End of seasons... What now?

We have some c'yote hunting to do, with the fresh snow on the ground. Put a different scope on the 22-250 and its beggin' to go. Bird hunting was not very good, but later-on the club will release some birds, so we may try them out. Ran acros't a fellow that needed to sell some reloading...

Case stretch anyone measure for it?

Sometimes when we FL resize fired cases, we still find some resistance to chambering a loaded round. If your die is touching the shell-holder and you still have problems, carefully remove a few 1000s from the top of the shell-holder, and screw the die down a little . This may also bump the...

    Kodiak Canvas Truck Tent

Vince, When its zipped shut, does the tailgate need to be up? Can a 6' tall person stand-up to get dressed? Can it be set-up on the ground? It may be of interest, Jim

    My fathers old hunting rifle.....

Yes, it will honor your dad to carry his rifles afield. When he sees you carrying one, he will remember a special time when he used it. That's what us old guys do. As time goes by, we hunters hope to get in another hunting season each year. I'll be 80 in July,

Case stretch anyone measure for it?

I check ALL cases, even new ones for length. Nosler brass is usually short a few 1000s, but some major brands can be long, even when new. And may stretch upon firing. It is possible for different rifles to require fl resizing and others to need less resizing, in order to fit the chamber...
