Several years back (crsnm) I killed the white-tail buck of my lifetime.
With what?, a 30-06 Springfield O3-A3 as issued rifle.
Really?
A 30-06?
Then why do I have a safe full of all this other stuff?
The fine OLD 30-06, may it live on forever!
Another way to look at it; I shot a 350 B&C bull elk in NM and had it processed at the local Chama plant. They shipped it via UPS-AIR to my door in MO, in heavy styroform boxes at a cost of 165$. And I still have the shipping boxes.
The cool part is, from freezing time in NM to my house in MO ...
Anyone tried the RL-25 powder in .270WSM? I will get some in the near future, if theres any "likes" about it.

Update;
Been to the range and here's a target results from the new Mod. 70, .270wsm
Nosler AB 140 , 3 shots, 100 meters, 65.0/ RL22, WLRM primer.

experience in the field.
We're lucky to live when he's also here.
For the most part, antelope hunts are fun.
Then there's the windy, rainy, snowy, muddy, frozen everything kind of hunts.
But no matter, you'll have a hunt you've waited all this time for, and I'm sure you'll enjoy every bit that it has to offer.
Have fun,
Neat stuff. I've seen one in action and it works great. That model had its own receiving/viewing screen/receiver unit. Works like a walkie-talkie, with a button to see each shot and a 5,10 ,20 shot group screen.
My pockets aren't deep enough for that unit, though.
I went after pheasants in SD a few years back, using my only real pheasant gun, my 1960s Superposed 2 3/4" 12 ga O/u. Great gun, I must say. Missed the first 2 cackling roosters that got up, but after that it was a fine day. IIRC, the loads were 1 1/4 oz. of #5 in the top barrel and 6s in the...
