I used a Furry .358 220gr in my 35 Whelen couple years ago and it did well on a WV whitetail. Grouped under an inch at 100yds and held together pretty well in a jug test at that distance going into 4th or fifth jug. So, I'd say it was a worthwhile bullet.
I'd choose the Nosler 125 PT then the 130gr AB. You'll get the same performance basically. If they don't fly in your rifle, then 129. The Etip last. Just me.
As for comparing velocity 35Rem to the 360BH as Guy stated the 360 gets the velocity by increasing pressure. One of our fellow members who I haven't seen post for awhile took his 35Rem to higher level of velocity by safely increasing pressure and he achieved what they've done for the 360 now...
I called Ruger to see what they had to say and was told that did not have any parts nor offered service on the Red Label. They did say that some parts might be available from Jack First 1-605-343-9544 or Numrich Arms 1=845-679-4867
Always like the looks of them but never owned one. Fellow range member has one that has a safety issue that it returns to safe after firing the first barrel sometimes. Gunsmith told him only the spring part was available and not making any others. Also, that Ruger had quit servicing them. Does...
Not what you're describing but know a guy that built an electric fence around his bee hives to keep bears out. It worked so a spark will get their attention.
Played around with this rifle some, got hot and put it aside. Finally got back to it and this morning was cooler so headed to the range. I've duplicated this load so if I don't find anything else this will hunt.
First shot:
Rimfire- Rem Mod 41 Target Master
Shotgun- Rem Mod 10 12ga
Centerfire- Mod 98 8x57 bring back
Pistol- Really can't remember. They were frowned on by my mother. Sad story concerning her brother.
Well written history of your journey. Most of my exposure to hunting and especially shooting was from reading and a couple guys who showed me enough to perk my interest. My father took me hunting just to get me started as he didn't care for it too much. Most likely due to the memories of his WW2...
Never used it in a 264 Win Mag but did in a 25-06 with 115gr Nosler Pt. Know couple of shooters that used it in their 7mmRM. Slow and dirty but got good groups with it. Hope someone has the data. I'll see if I can find some info.
