    Few Nosler Second Bullet Inventory

I have no problems with the Nosler seconds sold by them. Bought some 7mm seconds from Midway that looked like Sierra 140gr. Don't know if it was the bullets, the load combos I tried or that my rifle just didn't like them, but I couldn't get them to group for nothing. Gave the rest to my son to...

Loading Nosler 100 grain BTSP in .257 Roberts

Years ago when Ruger started chambering the Mod 77 in 257 Roberts, I knew a guy who loaded 117gr round nose due to the short throat length.

    Rifle scopes

My Nikon Prostaff 5 started not tracking correctly the other day. Have had it since 2019. Was on a 7mm08 and for the last few years a 223, no heavy recoiling rifles. Just got off the phone with their customer support. They are emailing me the information needed to return the scope for a redeem...

Latest on suppressor removal from 1934 FFL

I know that the removal of suppressors from the 1934 Federal Firearms Law is in the Big Beautiful Bill and caught a glimpse of a heading regarding this but nothing more lately. Anyone one if more information concerning this is available. Haven't dug too deep. Hope the restriction of having to...

    150 vs. 165 (edited)

Like you I have used the 150gr in 308 with the exception of one-time 125gr which I plan to try again sometime. In my 30-06 I've used both 150 and 165. Both work. The advantage of the 165 is a little more weight and energy if an angling shot is needed. Mostly it comes down to what groups best in...

    Rifle scopes

Nikon will repair their scopes if possible if not then give you a gift card for their website and you use the value for their products. My son sent one back last year and they said was unrepairable, so they sent him a card worth $300. He got a nice pair of binoculars. I'm thinking of buying a...

    Few Nosler Second Bullet Inventory

Maybe that means that quality control has gotten better and there are fewer 2nds being produced.

    Mystery caliber

Could have been worse. Saw a Ron Spomer video where he admitted to putting a 7mm08 shell in the chamber of a 25-06. He showed the case after firing to remind shooters to be careful and not have more than one cartridge on the bench when shooting. Can't imagine the pressure that caused.

    QL request 7-08

At some point try the Nosler 120gr BT. Also, Ramshot Big Game and Winchester Stabal6.5 powders group well in my 7mm08.

.22 ammo..... need a thought or two

Have shot some S&K, Eley, Federal GM, CCI standard velocity and bulk box stuff. None of it was fired in a custom gun but 2 different CZs and a Ruger. What I have experienced is the same as reloading, you find the load that groups best in your particular rifle. What surprises me is that some of...

Quite an accomplishment. Never heard of that happening before. Load up some more and see if it will duplicate. I'd say it will.
