I have a blr in 270win, but haven't shot it much. How's the accuracy with it? I only bore sighted mine just to shoot steel. Need to shoot paper and dial it in with the factory ammo i have on hand then go from there. In 27cal have bullets from 90-150gr. Waiting on the 277fury ar barrel...
The prices that rl had been before they became unattainable in 23, 26 and 33 lead me down the vv line. I would've minded trying 23 and 26 as I do have a jug of 33. I do have a little od 15.5 and want to try 16. If you have some grand to try against HD and 23 I'd be interested in seeing...
I have e-tip in 1 bullet (180 30 cal). I haven't tried any yet. I bought them for 300wm, but might try them in 308win? Really not sure why I bought them other than load data? Did you buy them for state hunting requirements or just wanting to shoot them?
The imr4831 was my go-to in my (technically dad's) 264wm for decades. Don't remember how much I have left as there isn't anymore to find. Hoping 565, 568, HD or grand will pick up the slack. Might use what I have left for the 243win?
I have a decent amount of 7828ssc but could go fast! With many cartridge and bullet combos I have i might have to pick and choose! Between 7saum, 6.5prc, 277fury, 243win and both 300 and 264wm it'll be gone in a blink of an eye. Only vv powders will be there to take up the slack:(. I...
The 1st nosler manual i bought was the 8th edition. The only manual i ever owned until then was a Sierra #5 in '84. Only shot Sierra's until '14 before I ever bought any other brands.
factory ammo comes before component sales do! handloaders/reloaders aren't even in 2nd place, more like 5th and 6th when you count specific powders, primers, bullets and brass. match ammo gets top pic on ever component per manufacturer! wonder why we sort bullets and brass..........there's...
in a way regardless of using factory ammo it's a little deceiving. different powders behave differently in different lengths (excluding twist for now) can yield a wider difference or a closer difference. i'd say try imr4064 in all the weights used for a better comparison or imr4895 or h4895...
i do have my favorite (264wm), but i'll play the field! it's great having a multitude of many offerings for me and the family as some have grown into their favorites.
Yes and no!? It's close but no cigar data. You might find data that's the same in 1 cartridge with 1 specific bullet as that's rare. My suggestion is NOT to use 1 in the other! I've seen the same for h and imr 4350 and I know that's a no-no!
you can as far as i know on ql twist or even primer used. not even sure if twist effects velocity or those within 1 rate of twist higher or lower? grt might have that option
all of those should work fine in the 9 twist. the heaviest i've shot so far in my dad's pre64 mod70 264wm was sierra 140sbt's using 61.3gr of imr4831. after 2,500+ rounds i stopped shooting it. now i have 2 more 264wm's. post64 and a custom built from a 110 action w/32" 7.5t McGowen for...
you left out the 3rd key component...................duct tape. every farmer/rancher knows you can fix 99% or everything with wire (bailing or barbed) hammer and duct tape🦆:ROFLMAO:
