LOL....
Forever the "price"
Not picking on you....
It just makes me chuckle how reloaders get so enamored with price and seemingly lose grips that it's always relative to buying factory loaded and always cheaper, more beneficial, etc.
I am glad you scored some brass though!!!
As i posted...
You will be able to get some this summer. I promise you that.
What I can't tell you is how much you can get. It won't be an endless supply until probably middle of 2026...
BUT.........
Alliant pretty much across the board will be available at one point or another this summer.
Unless...
The wild card here is Alliant.
That war is eating up Alliant powder.
I don't care what PR bullshit Alliant spins...
I know for a fact they are allocating so much of their powder resources, materials and labor for powder used for the Ukraine war munitions.
Yeah...
I've always tried to get two loads for a weapon using two different powders because of the availability problems that can arise.
W760 and IMR4350 are the two I try to use as the alternate.
If things get bleak one can usually obtain 760 or 4350imr in a store, internet, or...
Those of you who read some of my posts know I used to be employed high up deep in this industry.
The FYI.....things are looking up.
Availability on products is getting better. Much better on certain items.
Prices are getting better with that.
Some of my ex colleagues were pleased to tell me...
No...
Your scales are accurate to +/- .2 grain.
I'm telling you your scale will only read to the tenth in grains and will round up or dowm pending actual weight.
31.14 grain will show 31.1 or possibly 31.2 gr.
Not really. I follow along in a thread I'm active in and you've gotten replies and...
#1 these scales are only going to the tenth of a grain.
As in one decimal place.
(.1) grain
Number 2....
You have weighed several dimes or so it seems and they are all doing that.
Don't you think that if you keep getting CONSISTENT readings the dimes are not actually 2.268 grans but...
It's very simple and nothing to be perplexed about.
Your scales are going to the tenth of a grain. One decimal place.
No more.
You got two correct readings and a dime was .277 grains off
That tells. me the dime is under weight when made.
.
Seriously brotha..
Charge some ammo with...
On the cleaning front...
I believe technique supersedes any magical potion.
I do believe the MC-7 i use is better than others but I can't call it the best. I also can't say brand X or brand Y are the best...
Once you use a decent product you can tell a difference over a weaker product but in...
Shooters choice...mc-7
Combination of bronze brush and nylon brush in combo with patches
finish with a bore mop
Mirror finish.
Yay!!
My mirror finish is more about my procedure than any one component
BUT...
The components I listed definitely help
Easy does it. Don't rough house them...in other words don't slam into them to push them out
Run them through just as you would removing spent primers.
Right when your decapping pin would engage the primer to remove it, slow down and push it out.
it's done all the time.
Go slow...you'll be ok
Quite possibly one of the best introductions on here ever...
Welcome aboard...
I look forward to future engagements and paths crossing.
P.s.
This is a unique forum and although
"Nosler" driven it really is a place we discuss any bullet/load/weapon combo with good interaction.
Most here...
Perhaps...
When things got stupidly unavailable there for a couple years I had to use some different stuff..
B&P
Nobel sport and so on...
That said Nobel sport primers #688 are a direct interchange of Winchester primers.
