One of my fellow trap shooters asked me what I knew of Norma shotshells.
I said little to nothing. Matter if fact didn't know they made them.
Anyone here have any experience with Norma shotshells?
Norma actually make these? Or rebranded?
Thx
In the words of the great Colonel Walter E. Kurtz from apocalypse now...
The horror.
The horror.
That was my thought looking at my bench tonight.
Time to get those benches cleaned and tidied up my fellow posters.
Shooting weather is here.
Stay safe and happy loading/shooting.
I didn't toss the usable 18 cases i have of the Hornady brass. I am using them as test brass for approximate velocities of different bullet/charge combos.
My good brass is all Weatherby or Norma which is one in the same sans the head stamp
Easy there fellas...
I had to draw the line of saftey equipment somewhere.
My jousting armor got too hot and mittens didn't work well picking up primers.
Back to just being extra mindful and careful
I'd definitely let them aware.
Getting information like this out to good mfg's, like Dillon, makes it possible to help a potential "next guy" in the same boat....to perhaps be warned and avoid that boat.
At the very least Dillon will make note of it and that's a good thing.
Good day and...
I just got some new nickel Starline brass.
I used to just buy up some premium defense ammo and would always use that brass.
Anyone with experienced opinions using Starline brass is most welcomed.
Thx
I've harvested game in many different ways. All humane of course. Far and away, running, big and small, close, dangerous and even more dangerous. All types of weapons etc etc...
That all said oddly I have never harvested a whitetail with a pistol. It is now #1 on my bucket list. I have hunted...
Glad you are ok... 10001 percent glad for that.
I am sure your reloading prowess is just fine. Fiocchi would never admit to such a thing as being a one off...
that said if this happens a few more times and word gets out they will address it and this is the kind of thing that can't literally...
While I appreciate the response I had to take a moment and think..what is he responding to.
I then re-read my post.
I've learned a lot on the belted magnums since then.
Thanks again though for the response
"Have to release the shell holder grip on the base about 1/2 turn for each case."
Can you explain this a little more...
Understand I know nothing of the Lee trimmerthing.
That's the one I modified #24.
I bought it to size the WSSM ...
Anyways a properly sized 30-378 case is .561
That bushing is about .555 I.D.
So I drilled it out with a 9/16 drill.
(.5625)
Then I Dremel sanded it
The Kong isn't. 561 all the way back so I had to remove a litter more...
Need some opinions on a trimmer for the 30-378.
I have a manual trimmer and an electric brass smith trimmer from Lyman.
It works great. With repeated sense of pressure of course it's the same all the time every time. GREAT!
BUT...
It won't do straight wall cases and no bushing big enough...
Just as things are trendy in our industry they also often times do a merry go round.
When USRAC shut down, FN took over but they were only doing top shelf rifles.
It was Browning and expensive FN and Kimber stuff.
The big killer was when metallic materials got hard to acquire.
Early on brass...
*****UPDATE*****
I was very anxious to try these SH's out.
I checked the head space on the cases before using the new shell holders.
I raised the ram....Turned the sizing die down good and firm against the .010 shell holder.
Shell Holder #10 was all I needed.
It bumped the shoulder back...
