Anyone using these from Redding?
https://redding-reloading.com/product/competition-shellholder-sets/
I've done the sense of feel thing for a while. Feeler gauges between die and shell holder...sense of feel by itself...
and I can get the bump I need but if these shell holders do what they say...
First outing with two handloads.
The Nosler can shoot a lot better.
It literally started pouring rain and wind gusts came were insane.
It wasn't a distance thing but conditions instantly got terrible. Sideways rain in the face WIND.....NOT CALM WHATSOEVER like it was for the XTP...
I've owned many 44's over the years.
Pretty much all brands but one....
And here it is....
I've always wanted an Anaconda.
Right when I went to get one they stopped making them.
Then everyone wanted all the money in the world for one if they had one.
They started making them again...
My son is getting into LR shooting and got a new FFP scope.
Couldn't find QD 34mm rings from Warne at the time so he got Leupold QD rings.
I get him all mounted up, bore sighted up, off we go with two different loads.
He's shooting and I'm spotting.
Three shots but severely apart.
2 inches or...
Nice.
I have no pressure findings and have gone north of 3100 without issue.
That said keeping it at 3100 gives me case life of at least a dozen firings and counting. Matter of fact I've yet to toss one. Since hitting a dozen firings I rotated my supply (,I have a lot of new wsm brass) and...
The 700's I have are the closest but the magwell is still at least .020-.025 shorter than the max chamber length
The Winchesters are the furthest.
Two USRAC pre64 weapons and one USA made FN gun. The FN gun is closer but still a fair amount away from the chamber max length.
The New Haven guns...
Have you ever found a commercially produced weapon that the internal magazine is only .010 off from the chamber length?
I've been curious about this for some time.
Every rifle I have owned or helped with the magazine opening is always a great deal shorter than the ogive to land distance...
I have a ton of WSM brass that has well over 10 firings and still trucking but they've been trimmed much more than once.
I don't know where your magnum threshold is but mine are approaching 3100 fps with 180 grain bullets. Out running all of my crew's traditional 300WM and not terribly far...
Any recipe with IMR4350 has the potential to be special.
It's one of two powders that if the sky fell and i could only have two powders on my bench it would be Winchester 760 and IMR 4350.
IMR4350 isn't the fastest..but more times than not it yields excellent accuracy.
It's also the least...
You said you FL sized them but then said you compared to your fired cases from your gun and adjusted the die to do a shoulder bump.
Or...Are you saying you only sized one case and measured then changed the die.
I'm only asking as many people read this forum and want you to be as clear as...
Its a non issue!!!!
Here's what I'd do .
Shoot the nosler ONLY..until you exceed 2.610...
The trim to length.
Then collectively FL resize all the brass.
Trim ALL brass to 2.610
Now you're at ground zero.
Then....
..........
Fuhgetaboutit and enjoy!
The two chambers will be different.
And...
The end of the bullet tip and cartridge overall length here mean absolutely nothing until the end.
What is your chamber OAL of the Browning?
Ogive to rifling...
of your Browning with that particular bullet.
Then measure the same bullet on your...
Letd go into inspector gadget mode.
Go go gadget picture.
Can we see a picture of it?
Go go gadget primer...
from the 40.0 grain case?
How does it look? The one that didn't get pierced. If it looks like a normal struck primer the problem is NOT your firing pin.
Could it be possible....
The...
I've never seen any velocity difference nor confirmed accuracy difference between any CCI benchrest primer and the cci counterpart.
You will be perfectly fine and good luck
Bbl twist?
Moreover what was your starting depth? Sometimes we get ahead of ourselves and start seating what we "think" will be good versus keeping it simple ahd starting at the listed COAL for that recipe in published data.
We've all been there.
Two questions though.
Twist and your start...
I had a 7 odd 8 that could put 17 rounds into one ragged hole.
Then it would walk.
Clean it to a mirror finish.....

Start walking. .
