It's time for a new spotting scope but I have been reading about some people ditching the spotting scopes for the cameras...
Maybe not ditching them totally but for longer range the talk seems to be cameras.
Who here is using the long shot target camera system?
In particular the Ranger + 1000...
Let’s be brutally honest here, you wanted to bash Nosler for your sowers with your inability to acquire a single bullet type for five years. I’ve read this thread from beginning to end, and what I found ironic was that towards the end you wanted to bring your frustration out on this forum. It’s...
If you are following along you can see I have pretty much given up on the Ballistic Silver tip bullet. At least the one I need..which I haven't seen for many years.
I doubt Nosler will just discontinue that bullet as it had a big following. Thus they made them available for the handloader. If...
I haven't complained about the cost.
Heck they can be a million five....but if we can't get them ...
$$$$ Become irrelevant.
P.s.
The "yeah, but..."
can be endless on this availability problem..
I always stock up on what works well when it is available.
Just like primers. ESPECIALLY...
I don't care the cost if it works well, it works well.
What I do care about is availability.
Answers I've gotten from Nosler themselves....
ME:
Approximately when will these be available...
Nosler:
Have no idea.
Nosler;
Which bullet are you looking for again?
Me:
I am looking for #51170...
Sounds identical to me of the last 20 years. Minus the AB bullets.
I have exclusively used #51170
They shot amazing. Target and game...
The cleaning was a dream with the black coating....
I'm definitely going to find an alternative bullet though because again it's been at least 5 years since...
Thx for sharing.
Allow me. ...
I was employed high up deep in the industry some years ago and lets look at a couple things.
The packaging...oh the packaging.
These were all around the same era
and were pretty much the same for many years. They all had the cardboard box with metal...
Consider yourself lucky if you didn't find Nosler difficult to obtain.
I suppose one can paint a prettier picture if you're looking fairly frequently for those seconds to pop up....
I can tell you I've got extensive resources and during those times for me Nosler in what I shoot was next to...
HA!!!
Come on now...
Are we ever really "done" ?
Until I can put 5 shots into a hole the size of .308 thousandths in diameter with a group size of zero....
I am never done.
I might pause for a time or two when I can get something with consistent acceptable lethality for hunting purposes and...
****** MODERATORS******
Is someone selling traffic rally in this thread? Something looks a bit off to me...???...
Just saying and hoping we don't get hacked again with a million fishing posts that aren't about the fishing we all know and love.
Well you guys have me intrigued on the AB bullet ...
That said I would like a legit honest answer on something.
We all love Nosler....it brought us all here at some point in time on this forum.
That said there is no other way to put this but Nosler's availability during the covid time and...
I was looking at the data on Hodgdon's website and they suggest seating the 168 gr E-tip to 3.740
Nosler on the other hand lists it at 3.630...pretty much the whole lineup in that 168gr category...
With no special note about seating E-tip .110 longer.
If it was minor like .020...meh...
But...
I can attest to that and don't worry about the FL sizing.
Having so many different platforms I always fl sized the brass.
I have brass from Winchester, Remington, Nosler, nickel plated from Olin, ...
Case life? Well I haven't retired any brass yet. Some are at double digit firings and I have...
Chuck Norris would never own a Creedmoor.
I'm pretty sure Chuck and I are the only two people who won't own such a thing.
It's so trendy I even seen some people carrying the Creedmoor while doing a civil war reenactment.
