These are all some great looking groups from many different calibers. When you are working on load development, what do you find tightens the group in the most, is it adjusting powder charge, or the seating depth?
I got rid of my 280AI years ago. I felt like the 7 mag was so close to the same but with a little more. At the time my 7 mag was a great little Sako that was very accurate. I have always had a 7 mag as a primary or back up since then.. today it’s a Tikka T3X. The .284 line of caliber options is...
Saturday after Thanksgiving in PA and our ranch in TX it opens second Saturday in October. She probably won’t hunt there this year because our youngest gets is still too young to leave with her Mom or bring with us.
This is the same thing I do, I also have an UltraSonic that I use for specific cleanings. In most cases I don't need the U.S. after getting wet tumbled. My FA is the Lite version which is better for me, i don't typically clean 100 or more pieces at once.
That's a nice set up JD and much easier than what I do. I am actually taking the lift off, I went overboard with that one. It's 10", 35" tires and 20" wheels. I'm up in the trees on every trail, lost a lot of turning radius, and it doesn't feel as cool getting in and out of it with my old man...
I still throw mine in the back of the truck or the SxS. I lifted the Northstar two years back though and there is no more throwing one back there. I put a temp headache rack in and run my winch over my roof and off the bed. It works great!
I thought I had a picture with the rack in it, but I...
I tried that today. I dropped my charge weight .005 and .01 and shot it again. My speeds dropped roughly 20 fps from .005 and about 35 fps from .01 but the bolt was the same situation. Even taking the fired brass and trying it again I was getting the same results. Just by dumb luck, my two shots...
I thought shoulder space early on, but it does it with factory ammo, never fired brass etc.. Last year I tried taking some Winchester brass that I didn’t plan on using again and bumping the shoulder back .007 from fire formed. It didn’t help the situation.
I’m curious on the primary...
I grease them decently often. Last year before hunting season I disassembled the entire bolt, cleaned and lubed it. Hoping to make life easier for ol sweet thing. It didn’t help much, but I always feel better knowing it’s done on all of my guns.
Christensen asked me to send this one back, I just really don’t want to do that. There is a decent gunsmith here local that I may need to talk to though.
Sorry for the errors, I’m doing this from my
Phone. They are 180g bullets and it’s a stiff bolt, not stuff. The edit function won’t show my post on here.
