Aint that the truth. Aint a whiskers worth of difference between a 30-30 and the 350 legend but the bottle neck. And some how the 30-30 is too dangerous....the only thing to dangerous is people who dont understand that the only reliable back stop is dirt. Its easy enough to forget.... but we...
Yup- all of the above. Especially the part about Antelope in Africa. Wouldnt that be a blast. A 250 AI was thought by Ackley to be a very efficient Cartridge. Sorry, not to highjack your thread. A257 Bob Ackley is as well, and just more of a good thing! CL
Well- that is one of the best looking Axis reclamation's I have seen! Wish that (Joel) 257 Ackley was still knocking around the board. You guys would have some stuff to talk about! Congrats for finishing out a project well! What twist rate did you go with? Wondering if any one has tried the...
Clearwater- I have a cousin who can put the triple ducce (RCBS .222) dies to good use. If you havent had another offer and are ok with them going "off the board", shoot me a PM and I'll get you the money for shipping and an address. Thanks- CL
Rare that "planning" ever gets involved in my rifle purchases.... but then I guess I looked for several years before I found my curernt replacement for the original 250 Savage....and I spent the better part of a year getting her back up and running again when the bolt broke. Lots of "planning"...
"The new ammunition has silver primers my old ammo has brass. Not sure if that makes a difference."
I copied this because I was afraid I had read it wrong. In my experience, All the factory ammo I have shot from Rem, Winchester and Hornady, and Norma had "brass" colored primers from the...
Afraid you may be right. Unless the next generation makes a lot more money than I did as a younger person. Its nothing to see $1,000 rifles- and tags and limited hunting opportunities. But then I am getting old and my situation is different. Kids would rather "shoot in a video game" if they...
Pretty much priced me out as a non resident. Not blaming or saying its wrong either. If as has been ststed the Wyo GFP is not supported outside tag fees then I guess thats the reality. Residents who pay the taxes should get priority. CL
You see, Fotis dosent mess around- when he needs some "recoil therapy" he dosent go blow off a couple hundred rounds of .223. He reaches for a 458 Lott and 4or5 rounds. Course it would cost about the same, so he reloads 😆. CL
Excellent reloading work (as usual) Fotis. Those 99's just handle so well. Be hard not to enjoy hunting with one. Cant get the nice groups out of my friends 99, but still so much fun to shoot! Enjoy!CL
Me too. I support my local firearms safety instructors. They have a more positive and immediate affect on the future shooting sports participants. You do more good giving your money and time to the local high school trap team IMHO. CL
So if this round is running about the same speeds as current offered rounds, is there cause for concern about bullet performance. a 100gr BT dosent care if it comes out of a steel case if the MV is 3100 fps, seems like a 25-05 to me? Maybe not....? Dosent matter, I wont be buying a bunch of...
You could add the 250 Savage to the list of cartriges that work with 4350. Although, I'vre been stuck w/ IMR 4350 for years because I havent been able to find H4350 for years. I assume that makes a difference, not sure how much. Some one here will venture an opinion. CL
I'm all for fixed powers. Dads K-4 has ridden on top of his 7 Mag for 60 years. Dont shoot it enough or well enough to know that iti dosent hold zero. My 2 in groups arent much of an indicator though. The k-4 on Mom's rifle is about the same. I have a 4x Bushnell on my .22. Havent adjusted...
