Made it back to the range todat 43gns of varget averaged 2660. And produced this group its consistent. Very happy with it. Hope to bloody it in October when i can use it for 3 days while the weather is nice.

All of Hodgdon's max loads with hd are compressed. Staball 6.5 is not. If that matters to you. They don't show any loads with lrt. Magnum should work good if you have it.

I have a Blackhawk version of the lead sled. To me you can't feel if you have the rifle shouldered right. Plus they crack wooden stocks on heavy recoilers. I took a die grinder with a cutting wheel and cut the back out of it. Lets you shoulder the rifle much better.

DrMike I was just doing a charge weight test. I will test them again and check the velocities. I have to seat the bullet deeper cause it won't eject a live round.

The stock was the reason i bought it. It was a interarms 308. Only has 40 rounds down the tube. Using a 129gn interlock bullet. It's a E.R. Shaw barrel

Got it. Made it to the range with the 6.5x55. Did a seating depth test with 43gns of staball 6.5. Some pictures of the gun and targets.

Made it to the range today. Fired the 40.5 gn load in the cases from my gun. No pierced primers.

I was at Cabelas today 6.5 staball was $350 for 8lbs. Glad i bought 3 8lbers when it was $175 for 8lbs. Also have 3 8lbers of rl26. I'm good on everything till i die.

Not hard to understand. I fl resized the cases not fired in my gun. I pulled the unfired rounds apart. And measured the cases. They where .013 shorter than the cases fired in my gun. Then i set the die up to bump the shoulder on the cases from my gun.

It's not just nosler brass. I have Hornady ,Lapua and Norma for 6.5 prc. They're all short. Guess that's the industry's side of shrink flation.

If your using the same bullet i would start with the same jump. The bullet has more to do with it then the rifle.
