    Shot the Tikka Swede

Gorgeous. That's a generational rifle for sure. Kids and grandkids and a very useable cartridge.

    7 re mag and 150 g bullets

I have used the 150NBT's extensively in the 7mmRM using 64 grains of RL22. It is a great deer bullet and was very easy to get to shoot well. I never caught one, they always exited on red deer and smaller game. If that was the only bullet I had available to me for that cartridge, I would be a...

30-06 QL Help Please and any help from the stands would be great too.

Hi Guys, Just a quick one. I have just recently purchased my first 30-06 and took it to the range today. I was just breaking it in and it is showing enormous promise. I loaded 55 grains of H4350 behind some left over Hornady 178 ELDM's. 9 shots chronographed at an average of 2,722fps with an...

    Shot the Tikka Swede

My son’s Swede in a timber stocked tikka shoots lights out as well. Hopefully we get RL16 back in the gun shops again at a reasonable price, I have a number of cartridges I would like to try it in, the Swede now being added to the list.

So Glad That I Tried Different Rifle Cartridges & Loads!

Like Bikram, I really enjoy playing with a lot of different cartridges simply out of curiosity. I always thought I could get away with just five rifles and at some point in time I might. I realised my biggest error is having invested in shells, bullets etc for said rifles that it makes it...

    Cape Buffalo 2025

Outstanding. I have been listening to podcasts about shooting Black Death recently, seems like an incredible adventure. Great pics too 👍👍👍

    Killing

I have an absolute sense of happiness when I do my job properly and a sense of disappointment when I don’t and sadness for injuring an animal before killing it. The game we play right. Closer is always better.

    Deer reactions when hit.

Good thread. I have never really thought too much about it. I have seen deer run 50 yards, generally not more if well hit and drop on the spot. A frontal neck shot always seems to drop them on the spot though a side neck shot that does not break the spine will leave a blood trail like the Texas...

    Reloading 7mm Terminal Ascent Bullets

I’d like to try the 155’s in my 280ai but haven’t seen any of those projectiles for sale here. For whatever reason we can’t get swift projectiles either. Seems like the supply chain is not fully fixed yet.

    Federal’s 7mm Backcountry

With the cost of projectiles, I am happy to sit with well made cup and core bullets like the NBT, good velocities at short to moderate ranges...though am a big fan of the accubonds when needed.

Does anyone know how successful the cartridge has actually been?

300 Win Mag / Barnes TTSX Ladder Test

That is incredible speed and accuracy. That load has me seriously questioning why I have RUM. That is a proper thumper

    7 PRC Loads

Nice shooting Sean. Please don’t take this the wrong way, but I wonder whether that is the right powder for the 7PRC with the 150eldx? It is a fine bullet, I use it in my 280ai with great success on red deer and smaller species, but the 280ai is moving them along at 3,030fps or thereabouts and...

Why No Love for The .308 Winchester

Them bulletproof deer are becoming a real problem 😉

Why No Love for The .308 Winchester

Seems a little like the older we get the more we realise things don't have to be difficult. Like you, I have had a multitude of rifles with big cases, but these days I find myself grabbing the mild mannered 7/08 more often than not, the little brother to your 308. Nice rifle and deer. Looks like...

    6.5 CM 130gr bullet test, Part 2 - 129gr Hornady SST

It’s a reasonably tough little bullet in our experience, at least at the velocities generated in a 6.5x55. It has punched through shoulder blades, ribs and spines on red deer. They do expand quite violently. I think this bullet is much like a ballistic tip in that the first iteration might have...

    2025 Hunting Season

It has been a good year. There has been good food in the paddocks for the animals and little hunting pressure on the properties we go to. Offshore has also been good with quite a few wahoo and mahi mahi this season too. I will hunt again soon in the coming weeks. Majority of game taken with...

    Bullet Anatomy

92 grains of Retumbo gets it out the barrel of my Rum at 3,132fps with an SD of 7.9. That's out of a 26 inch barrel. It is an incredibly accurate load but probably in a cartridge I would never buy again. I have enjoyed playing with it though.
